Good calipers but a bit fragile.

This caliper worked well until it suddenly fell apart about 5 months after purchase. I don't know how but the bushing that allowed it to slide with little friction fell out causing it to just open fully and fall apart when I picked it up one day. Mind you, they still work, but the sliding mechanism is outdated. There's almost no friction, so you have to actively apply pressure to get an accurate reading of what you're measuring, and now it falls apart quite easily.

  • Solid Type
Cons
  • No Instructions

Measuring points are not straight and not symmetrical

One of the pointed brake shoes was cut so that the point is 0.02 inch from the edge of the surface. This looks like a sloppy manufacturing defect that should have been fixed by the quality control department. It is not possible to use pointed tips for an accurate measurement and instead you can just use the flat surfaces of the caliper. If you need to take accurate measurements I recommend purchasing a higher quality product - you will not be satisfied with this.

Pros
  • All right!

Good calipers for testing, measuring and checking

caliper as far as I can tell is fine. Measurements on blocks 3-2-1 show accuracy. The case needs improvement. The case comes with documents, a screwdriver, a spare battery and of course calipers. I am happy to keep any documents that come with the tool. 1) Through a slot inside the case in the top half, one could insert documents into the storage case. 2) The case could also be improved by making a slot for a screwdriver. and an appropriately sized battery for each to fit in their respective…

Don't buy this crap. look elsewhere

I struggled with this caliper for more than a year. You need at least one auto-shutoff feature. For some unknown reason, it turns itself on when it's off and not in use. I used 6 batteries (CR 2032) when testing this item. This is a regular battery and I could keep 7 or 8 of these batteries in stock as every time I had to use it the battery was 100% dead. There is a very small screw that needs to be unscrewed to replace the battery. So, by the will of fate, I dropped the screw and I can't find…

Many years ago I should have bought a digital caliper

I do chores and like to build scale models. I used a plastic ruler and a 75 year old micrometer that I inherited from my father over the past 30 years. This digital caliper is definitely an evolution of the previous technology. It is VERY quick to take a measurement and easy to read that measurement. Has internal and external measurements and depth measurements. I can reset it anytime. Reads millimeters, fractional inches, digital inches. I've used this to measure thin things like styrene…

  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not bad

Couldn't handle rough sliding

There were 3 things I didn't like about these calipers: First, the display isn't what I expected. I saw an advertised image showing 3 large decimal places on an image of a person measuring a large red gem. I haven't really looked at the other photos and there are conflicting images. I ended up with only 2 big digits and 2 small digits. I don't like it for my purposes. Second, the numbers shown are very small and don't contrast well with my other calipers. In other words, it's hard to see. See…

You get what you pay for

Probably worth the money to use around the house twice a year but after a couple of months I smashed mine with a hammer and bought the Mitutoyo calipers I use in First should have had Key concerns include: Battery life: Like all cheap calipers with handy wake-up-on-move features, they're actually always on, so be prepared for your battery to die every few months, too if you never have one. use. Oh yes, because of the horrible battery door, I ended up breaking it. Good luck with the quick swap…

Very Disappointed!: Sizing

I bought this a few months ago because these calipers had such great reviews. I have to say I'm a bit surprised by these reviews after using what I bought for a while. I am a professional locksmith and have had many different brands over the years. These are by far the worst calipers I've ever had. First, they are quite bulky and heavy. I suspect that as a cheap alternative, they had to use larger components inside, increasing the overall size of the device. It's not a big deal, but if you plan

Power supply unit unstable after approx. 3 uses

At first I liked the caliper - sometimes it comes in handy. I've used it about 3 times since I bought it 9 months ago. return. I needed it again yesterday; However, the digital caliper no longer works properly. Every time I use it, it loses power for a while. For example, if you try to measure a 2 inch object in fractions of an inch, the unit of measure will be set to zero and switched to millimeter scale somewhere during the slide, returning a very inaccurate value, e.g. 2mm. I used the slider

Pros
  • It is used by both professionals and hobbyists - jewellers, hobbyists, carpenters, machinists, hobbyists, car mechanics, carvers, etc.; it even has an automatic on/off switch; You can buy it with confidence and your experience will be pleasant and hassle-free.
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Best Hit for the Dollar! There is no doubt about it!

These calipers are fantastic! The customer service was nothing short of excellent. As others have said they send a nice follow up message to see if you are happy and send some tips on use and care. It's a nice touch and they don't overdo it. I think they sent 2 or 3 emails just to make sure I'm happy. I! It appears to be a family business and can be supported. I've used my boss' calipers for years and decided it was time to get my own. He has Mitutoyo digital calipers, which he has owned for…
