Type of review

The ability that disco has built itself as an efficient tool with less resources compared other big players out there such like hadoop or hbase etc., It does help us handle huge datasets which we could not have done without this software before i think! I am yet learning how powerful can be its potential but still very nice!! Nothing at all just go ahead try using it will surely give you benefits over time because your business needs are going to grow overtime more than what u expect so disco…

Pros
  • Very easy installation
  • Easy use & operation even novice user do well in them !
  • More flexible, scalable data model
  • No need Hadoop/Hive experience for basic implementation.
  • Excellent support community (Stackoverflow)
  • Great examples project available from market place :)
Cons
  • There are troubles

Great for frontend development but lacking in memory management

I like that you can use disco with any programming language or database (MySQL/Postgres). It's easy enough to get up an running without having too much knowledge about how things work under the hood. There are some features which could be improved such as being able to run multiple instances at once instead of just one per machine. Also if your application needs more than 1GB RAM then there will likely not be space left over after installation. We're using this tool internally within our team…

Pros
  • Easy setup
  • Ability for parallel execution, good reporting capabilities.
  • Good documentation available in GitHub repository
Cons
  • There are troubles
