NOT 2010 MacPro Compatible

NOT 2010 MacPro Compatible I bought these to use with my 2010 Silver MacPro. You are not working! The display miniport connector is mechanically different, it doesn't even plug in! :( JOHNAVATAR.com

Doesn't work at 2560 x 1600 resolution

Although you can use this adapter to connect a monitor to a 1900 x 1200 Mini Display Port, it will not display a higher resolution, which means you can't use this adapter with high resolution can use. 4k or most Apple monitors. I bought it to use with a Radeon HD6870 and a Dell U3011 monitor at 2560x1600. The best I could get to work was 1900x1200.

They work, but be careful with the connectors

We received a couple of these for work and a couple of them are broken at the mini display port end, unplugged, etc. They work, but you should Be very careful removing connectors to ensure you don't meet the same fate as us. The good thing is that they are so cheap that we didn't worry too much about replacing them and we replaced them with the same brand.

Brings to life a DVI=D monitor hidden in a closet.

My daughter ran away with my spare HDMI monitor so I was left with DVI-D. With this adapter I can connect a second monitor to my Mac because the second hole in the Mac is Thunderbolt. This works transparently for Mac, the only setting was to change from "Duplicate Display" to "Continue Display" on Mac. Not sure what thickness and transparency have to do with it, but one end of the adapter smartly connects to the Mac, the other end smartly connects to the DVI-D cable, and it works fine.

Works great with my MacBook Pro!

Bought to add a display to test a 2012 15" MacBook Pro which I received with a cracked display. This is normal for monitors up to 1920x1200, but for one or two monitors. Not for Triple+

I got this to change the DVI connector to Mini DisplayPort after the new GPU card had other connectors. On the new AMD R9 280X GPU, the Sapphire version featured 1 DVI, 2m-DP and 1 HDMI. If you are using this for a triple monitor, this adapter worked to set up 2 monitors but as soon as I put the 3rd in the card the one with this adapter turned itself off. Works Great With A 20 Year Old 20 " Cinema Screen

My wife's 22 inch Samsung HDMI monitor on my wife's Mac mini has stopped working. Luckily, I still had my mid-'90s 20-inch Apple Cinema Screen tucked away in my workshop along with the same Mac G5. Q&A - Apple Cinema Screens • 30 " and 20 " / A1083 and A1081 - Seems to work but not great.

Q: Will this work on the 30" Apple Cinema Display A1083? A: Something like that. This will allow the display to work. Fine. Fine if you like a 1990's VGA monitor. Doesn't let anything go above 1280 x 800. The maximum resolution for this monitor is 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz, but supposedly supports (1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz).
