If you have a palette, put it in .

If you have a drip tray, place it as high as possible to avoid condensation, which always happens. My first one rusted quickly because they installed it in the wrong place.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Modern

Easy to install and test

The included 6ft cord made it easy to install in my system and the washer's heavy weight allows it to stay in place. The test and reset buttons are handy to check if the connection is correct. The material at the bottom of the washing machine should absorb moisture quickly and set off an alarm, although I haven't actually tested it with water.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Clarity

Works well when it works

It was placed on a tray under a newly installed air conditioner. Omission of the secondary overflow line to the basement. This failed after about 15 months. It works spontaneously without moisture. It can be reset but will work again within 24-36 hours. Replaced with the same in the hope of long life. The time will show.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

Easy to replace in Safety & Security

Purchased to replace broken switches. It was easy to install. The old one had a red alert light all the time, even though I tried drying it with a hair dryer for about an hour. Of course, that meant no heating or air conditioning. Not sure how old the previous switch was as it came with the house. It seems strange that a solid state device fails.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Band

Excellent goods! Now it's not just another flooded basement.

Excellent at detecting ANY drop of water, then breaking the circuit until it falls. Connect the outgoing 24V lines from the wet switch to the RIB 220V relay, which upon detection of a 24V open circuit from the switch opens the 220V line to our well pump. RIB signaling has also been added. I want to avoid a basement full of water from a broken pipe. This is to minimize the ingress of water from the ground into the contents of the pressure vessel and plumbing.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A few small things

Great product for safety and security

I installed this water sensor all over my house with reverse osmosis water treatment system. I poured some water on the floor next to the switch and it immediately disconnected from my system. In the past, pipe fittings would leak and flood the room where the water system was located. This is a high quality boxed product. It is well designed with a test switch and clear schematic on the nameplate. It comes with a large 6 foot cord. I just hooked up the wires to my system's 24VAC power supply…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Sealed unit, difficult to dry, reload when wet. Choose where to place it

Works great, works well. It took over 24 hours to dry even with silicone desiccants so the air conditioning didn't work until it was restarted and reinstalled. Tip: If you don't have a drain switch, don't install one on the external (secondary) sump of the air handling unit, as by this point water will already have entered the interior of the unit, possibly long before the problem is connected. The mold will already have accumulated by the time a flood is detected. From a design perspective, I…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Good but not great

Very simple and reliable solution

After I had a leaking 1 inch water pipe in my house which was equipped with a well and a submersible pump, I decided to add a "fail safe" layer of security. This is in addition to other tiers I have with a wireless connection through my router. I wanted to keep this level as simple as possible, no wifi, internet etc. I devised a solution where this unit is connected directly to a 240v relay in series with the pump switch. It works as it should with no issues with needing initialization after…

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Reliable water damage protection

Excellent product. Place it near the stove/air conditioner, water heater, washing machine, etc. and connect it to the device. If it detects water, it turns off the device so it doesn't produce water that could potentially damage floors, walls, or whatever else might be nearby. I install a lot of these, I've only had 1 or 2 that failed and had to be replaced. Has a built in backlight, turns red when triggered which shuts down the device until the wet switch dries and the reset button is pressed,
