Fire hazard! - Security and surveillance

Purchased in October 2017. 8 months have passed, the siren has stopped beeping. I went to change the batteries and it looks like I had a fire hazard on my hands and didn't know about it. It worked as intended until it started to overheat significantly. Soot was all over the bottom of the siren. I will not replace these batteries and will look for another solution.

Works well with SmartThings

Having only lived with this device for a few days I am impressed. In order to use the full functionality of SmartThings, you must use the available custom device handler. I am using this device to add an audible signal to signal the start of entry/exit times for my alarm clock. I also set another beep to indicate the alarm is disabled. And if I ever decide to swap out my doorbell, there are a whole host of other tones I can use for that purpose. It's far more useful than the other two sirens I…

Not very loud and does not ring

This dome siren is not loud at all. It can be easily connected to a ring alarm system, but in terms of sound it doesn't do more than a panel. It also does not function as a secondary call for door warnings. The siren is loud and your neighbors can hear it." It's not true. If your neighbors aren't within six feet of you and German shepherds, no one outside your home will hear it. In fact, I have it in my den turned it on and my wife upstairs didn't even hear it 3000 feet home the laundry horn…

As of 9/1/19 this is NOW FULLY COMPATIBLE with Ring Alarm

Ring recently released an update that officially makes it fully Ring Alarm compatible. I just bought and tested one. Now you will see it in the list of third party devices with the latest update. I'm pretty sure there isn't actually a separate dome siren built specifically for the ring, it was just a firmware update. So. Even the calling app itself doesn't refer to it as a "ring dome alarm," just a dome siren. Pairing is quick and easy. Hopefully a future update of the app will give us the…

No support for Security and Surveillance

Might be a great device but unfortunately I'll never know. Got it, set up all the device handlers, set up the device and added it to my automation with no issues. Set it to trigger when one of my water sensors detects a leak. Sat a couple of weeks, and then we had a leak. It did not work. I fixed some issues, deleted, reconnected but nothing. No noise. When I go to the device in SmartThings, I can't even turn it off manually. Maybe I got a dead one, I thought, I'll contact support. We opened a…

Works GREAT with Vera!

I just installed this with my existing Vera system and everything went very smoothly and it's exactly what I wanted. To install it with Vera, I had to tell Vera that I'm adding a "shared Z-Wave device". ", but after that everything was perfect. He realized it was a dome siren and immediately added two objects to my panel: a siren and a horn. The siren just turns on/off and can be manually controlled from the panel triggered or linked to triggers. It's loud enough to be heard through a solid…

Not worth the price for a ring system

Update 10/01/19 - This product still has the minimum usage detailed below. They have not been updated to include any of the advertised features. This device has been working with my Ring Alarm system since today 1/12/19. However, it only works as an additional sound device when the alarm goes off. There's no volume control, no way to change the type of alarm, and no way to use it to alert you to a doorbell, open windows, etc. The sound of the alarm is not loud at all, at least not only volume…

Good device with slightly disappointing ringtone

This little Z-Wave Plus device is easy to set up with Vera. It's not loud enough to work as a primary home security siren. Some of them can successfully act as the only doorbell in the house. The main purpose of the devices is to signal alarms to the home automation system. I find it very useful for this purpose. But the ring selection seems to be from an electronic doorbell my grandma thought was funny 30 years ago. A dome using the sounds of a modern smartphone will make this device more…

Looks good but doesn't work with the ring ecosystem (at the moment)

A little confused here. I bought it for my Ring Alarm System. The Ring website lists this tiny dome speaker as a compatible device, and it's even for sale on their website (although it's currently sold out). I thought I would just buy it from Revain but when I got it it didn't work at all. I was able to add it to my accounts/devices list but it didn't respond to anything. I thought Z-Wave technology was the standard used by these alarm companies, but I did a little research and found that it…
