Description of elmah.io

elmah.io is a cloud based error logger and management tool for .NET web applications. Based on the de-facto standard error component ELMAH, logging errors from your webserver requires nothing more than installing a NuGet package. We support both ELMAH as well as popular .NET logging frameworks like log4net, NLog and Serilog. When installed, all exceptions on your webservers will automatically be synced to elmah.io’s powerful infrastructure based on Elasticsearch and Windows Azure. Everything from full-text to time-based searches fly at supersonic speed. We integrate with Slack, Microsoft Teams, GitHub and more to help integrate error management into your workflow.

Very useful for tracking critical bugs

- It is free-as-in-beer-as-in-beer, as in beer-you-will-not-be-able-to-even-consider-using-a-service-that-makes-you-pay. I honestly cannot think of anything I dislike about it. The error logging is very powerful, and the support in the community is top-notch. Not much, actually. I am the support guy, and I honestly haven't thought about it. Give it a try. It's free. It's a very powerful, very well-supported logging tool. I am logging errors from a web client as well as a mobile client, and it…

Pros
  • Very good performance.
  • Simple interface
  • Powerful Error Logging Engine
  • Robust Reporting System
Cons
  • Some advanced features should also include some simple user experience.
  • You have no choice other than open source for running software when you want log files via emails

Great tool for troubleshooting issues on the server side

Elmahn provides us with an easy way to view server side exceptions in real time without any hassle or configuration required at all! It's great that it can be used through code too which makes debugging much easier compared when using logs only (as we do now). The UI has some minor issues but these are easily fixed by updating packages/updating browser version etc., I don't have anything major against this product yet!! Make sure you know what type of environment / use case scenario will best…

Pros
  • Very user friendly interface as well; doesn’t require alot fo effort from users who would otherwise hate doing something so tedious such logging error messages down manually onto log file everytime their services go awry
Cons
  • All fine
