Not great for kids

My 5 year old daughter has trouble accepting her curls and I bought some books to help us. This was my least favorite. It doesn't really talk about how nice it is to have curly hair or anything sublime. Even though the pictures are really cute, Amy's story explains how her mom washes and styles her hair. My daughter was very bored and I was bored reading for her too.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

I love this book! - Tools and accessories

This is my 2 year old's favorite book! She even wants to wear a twisted hairdo and a beanie to sleep like Amy, which is great for encouraging natural hair care and protective styling at a young age. Representation is important and I love how my daughter is able to recognize and see herself and her hair in this book.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Damaged

Definitely worth having in your reading essentials kit

I really like this story, although it's probably intended for a specific audience. I think it's good for all kids. The pictures in the book remind me of my daughter, we change the characters' names to match her name and our younger daughters love it when their older sister washes their hair. Nice pictures and I hope the author and artist will make more of them.

Pros
  • Easy-to-Read Control Panel
Cons
  • Modern

Misprint: Tools & Supplies

I was excited to read this book to my child but it won't happen because the pages are upside down. The words are also truncated at the bottom of the pages. There is also a large white blank area at the top of the page.

Pros
  • Great Variety
Cons
  • The Secret

Suitable for little girls. Wonderfully written and illustrated.

Santa gave this to my 9 year old daughter along with other similar books to teach her to love her curly hair. She could relate to the little things throughout the book and it made her laugh. She especially loved seeing that the washing routine was the same as hers, with pictures of a comb, conditioner, sprayer, etc. and a satin hat while she slept. So exciting and beautifully written and illustrated. She really struggled to love her hair, but these books helped her understand a little better…

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Expandable

Very cute and informative book

Very cute and informative book. Exactly what I was looking for! And my daughter loves it! I am a white mother and have four mixed children. My 7 year old daughter has very curly ethnic hair and no matter how hard I try to tell her about her hair and really teach her how much time and effort it takes to properly care for hair like hers, she just doesn't get it because that Children learn by example. I'm trying my best despite having white Irish girl hair and this book has really helped me with…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Everything is great

My daughter's hair is beautiful!

I want my daughter to know that she has beautiful hair. Society doesn't tell us that curly hair is beautiful. It really is, and this book confirms that message!

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • A little wrinkled

My kid loves the parts 1,2,3 RINSE

My daughter and I love this book. It helped her understand the whole hair care process. There's nothing wrong with washing your hair or combing your hair. The little girl smiles all the time and I point that out every time we read the book. It was nice to find a book with exactly the same daily schedule as ours! All the time she says "mommy does that too" or "yeah, like me". Her favorite part is "1,2,3 RINSE", which is shocking because she's afraid of getting water in her eyes. She also started

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other sets
