Do you really want clean water?

Adding this 50 micron filter element really cleans my water! It's crystal clear. I don't run any of my filters without this polishing pad. Cut and glue. It is so easy. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Great for filters Great for aquarium pumps and filters

I put these in my turtle filters and was impressed with the amount of dirt the filters catch. I cropped them to fit my filters which work great. To clean mine, I just soak them in a bucket of bleach for a while and then rinse them off with a hose.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • So far so good

This will not polish your aquarium water.

You need 10 microns or less to get crystal clear water. While this pad does capture some sediment and particles, it didn't make my water crystal clear or even clear. I used to have a Marineland Magnum water filter that did its job well, but the canister was just too big. I try to reproduce this quality.

Works better than expected

I have used this filter media in two of my aquariums and in a carp pond and it has worked very well. I had a problem with the cleanliness of my carp pond. I cut a piece of this material and stuck it in the filter and the next morning the water was much clearer than the day before. After two full days with this material, the water was crystal clear and the material was completely clogged with mud. You can also spray it from a hose and reuse it multiple times.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Not bad but...

I am very happy. I replace the cut parts of .

I ordered this on a filter media research frenzy. When I received it I thought I paid too much for the felt. However, after trimming and realizing how much it benefits the tank and how many spare blades I have, I'm very happy. I change the cut pieces from the filter every other day. Gets dirty very quickly. Definitely not bad quality. It washes well under tap water, but over time you may either bleach or machine wash it. This in combination with Purigen makes the water crystal clear :)

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Expandable

Best filter floss. I use this in my small aquariums by cutting a large filter into chunks. It always turns brown or black, indicating when it was removed and letting me know it's working like a charm. I find it much better at catching fine dirt, tiny dust and impure particles that regularly pass straight through the foam filters. restriction of water flow.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Essential for those using a sandy bottom

I put them in a cobalt canister filter and almost immediately speeded up the cycle process in the new aquarium. I have black fluorite sand in a planted tank in Arizona causing a dust storm that typically lasted 3 days after being kicked up. No matter how much I do now, the water won't be cloudy for more than 3 hours. I think filter placement will make a difference as mine is in this order: sponge, 3 to 5 layers of 50 micron, biomedium, ceramic rings and glass beads and then finally charcoal…

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Alright

does the job, easy to trim

This actually seems to create particles you thought you couldn't get. I use it in the pond, cut it out with household scissors and wrap it around the pump inlet with elastic string since I don't have a proper filter. It worked so well that I don't need a filter. You can remove it by hitting it with a hose, but really only a few times. After that, I found I just couldn't clean it no matter what, so I threw that piece away and cut off another one. Worst of all I don't remember which side goes…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Periodicity

So I used this in my 25 gallon aquarium with a Penguin 200 Biorad filter Here is everything I use to filter my tank in order : Coarse sponge Pre-filter inlet Coarse sponge in filter 2nd stage medium to fine sponge Then 50 micron polishing pad. Use it and all you have to do is crush the pad with the water from the tank a few tones until the discoloration is reduced, put it back in and then you'll be good for another month! It makes the water crystal clear without chemical filtration, only…
