Excellent budget camera for Alpine WX 650

Excellent camera, especially at this price. Much better than many factory cameras. The wiring harness is long enough and adequate for my full size Toyota Sequoia setup. I ground the black wire directly to the tailgate. I connected the two rear red wires together and then connected them to the reverse light positive wire. The front red wire connects to the radio's "trigger wire". Yellow RCA to Yellow RCA. I cut the green loop to turn off the parking line guides.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models

The night vision! Suitable for car rear view cameras

Oh how important night vision is. I, like others, was tricked into buying the second gen before reading the review of the third gen without the annoying real LEDs. This is the camera you need to buy. Good picture day and night. And preferably without LEDs. You also have the option to install with or without a license plate holder for a neater look. It has park lines to help you, but there's no way to turn them off. This is a little frustrating since the radio itself has adjustable park lines.

The new starlight sensor really lets in the light!

3rd Gen eRapta ERT11 - great camera! It has a new starlight sensor which I like because one of my security cameras has the same sensor. It really is all over the world! I didn't even need LEDs. The packaging was stylish and modern. Installation was easy. It worked, the wide angle lens is good and the new starlight sensor is just great at night. The yellow RCA cable was more than enough to get from my car's bumper to the head unit. Installation was easy, I drilled straight into my car's bumper…

Worked great with a little adjustment.

Great camera with one flaw for my application. I don't have an option to flip the display view, so I had to install it as it came out of the box. The problem for me was that I couldn't show it down enough to get the look I wanted. For a second I thought I could just remove the camera, flip the mount and reattach the camera. But because of the molded mount cutout on the back of the camera, that's not possible. So as you can see in the picture I just removed the mount and camera and bent the…

Very good camera with excellent picture

Installed this camera in my 2013 Jetta Sportwagon along with a small display from the same manufacturer. Camera and monitor work well. Mounting the camera and display was easy. The image was upside down so I flipped the camera by bending the included bracket to fit it on the correct side, with clearance for the tailgate handle as well (see image). Please note that the camera requires at least 12V. My taillight only provided 11.4V to the camera, so it didn't provide a strong enough signal, which

Excellent purchase; Work needed

For $25 this was impressive. My husband didn't want the cables to be visible as he installed this for my father who has a truck for his small boat. The truck has a Kenwood head unit after the sale. He pulled the Kenwood out and ran wires behind the body panels and panels to get to the rear of the truck. He climbed out of the cab and attached it to a wiring harness already in the truck with cable ties. Since my dad didn't want to add an extra screen to his dash, we used his existing head unit to

Almost Perfect - Car Backup Cameras

I am very impressed with this camera with one exception. Picture quality is sharp, crisp, and vibrant, and colors are vibrant. I think it could have used a bit more contrast but it doesn't ruin a great picture. He did pretty well in the one downpour he was in. Night vision is AMAZING. The last backup camera I had was useless at night. It's like a truck with headlights pointing backwards. The only exception and warning is that the camera makes objects appear further away than they really are…

Easy to install - can see in the dark

About 6 months ago I installed an Erapta Backup ERT01 camera with 8 small LED spots and am happy with it. I recently removed it to put a new registration sticker on my tag and found that the camera mount is obscuring the registration sticker which could get me in trouble. Erapta offered to send me a newer, higher resolution version of their camera for free if I test it and write a review. The new ERT11 camera is held in place by license plate screws and does not obscure the license plate. I…

Wiring/cables may need lengthening

This camera was installed on a 2008-2012 Honda Accord. The license plate is attached to the trunk lid, and the brake lights are in the corners. If your vehicle is configured similarly, you will likely need to either extend the 12V wiring or connect a short video extension cable (75 ohms) as the connection from the camera cable is approximately 12" to 18" shorter. I decided to add an extra video cable with splitter as I had already made the 12V wire connections and didn't want to extend them. By

Update 2: 3 more days later: I received the replacement camera very quickly with no question or apology from the manufacturer. They seem very willing to help in any way they can to make sure the customer is happy. I will be changing this product to 4 stars until I see how the replacement works. I will update again after a month of using the new camera. So far I'm happy with the camera and customer service and I hope the issue I had with the first unit was an accident. 1 after 3 days: I received
