Excellent form factor, very user friendly

Very good tool - great form factor for surveying, portable and with good battery life. The features are easy to use and don't require a manual to figure them out. The self-calibration feature is a great addition to durability.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Blunt hardware

Small and light

I use them as a health checker for restaurant checks. It's small and light enough that I don't mind carrying it in my tool bag every day. This is a luxury item as most inspectors don't care about the correct level of illumination when there are so many facilities with poor supply temperatures. I mainly use it on new builds when they have the opportunity to make adjustments more easily. Works well. Simply remove the black protective cover to reveal the white matte dome and start reading.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

I would buy this again.

The Extech LT40 LED Light Meter is easy to use and provides reasonable readings. I'm reasonable as I don't have a good method of determining the true accuracy of a gauge and the readings I get appear in a window I would expect from normal light sources. I typically use it for readings of 10 foot candles and below, typically in the 0.3 to 3.0 range, and with LED lighting, induction lighting, and metal halide lamps. I took some measurements in the office and compared the readings to the area…

Quality wireless counter

Works great for the price. I bought it to measure a night light meter on the street. You can use it to measure in lux or footcandles. The manual describes a fancy min/max averaging function. Otherwise he did a great job on the construction site. The included case offers good storage and the device is durable and works well in a commercial setting. The only drawback is the lack of a backlight, which makes it difficult to read at night. Since the light meter was integrated into the device, no…

  • Delivery was very fast

Curvy neighbor complained about Christmas lights - it shut him up

I received a nasty email from a grumpy neighbor who was complaining about our street Christmas lights. He hinted that we might be violating local lighting laws and rambled on about how our lights made it impossible for him to see the stars and night in Seattle in the dead of a gloomy winter. Yes. Before I told the old man to score, I wanted to make sure we didn't injure said flare, so I ordered this counter to be tested on myself. Ready to use straight away (batteries included) and I was happy…

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
