I bought this for an Onkyo stereo I bought for my wife as I didn't know the stereo came with the same unit. I inserted the 75 ohm plug into the VHF antenna jack on the back of the unit before turning it on for the first time. When I pressed the power button on the unit and set it to FM there was no sound. I tried to play a CD, no sound. After replacing this antenna with the one I found with the unit, the audio began to work on both FM and CD. 75 ohms should be 75 ohms, but it didn't work on the

I needed the best antenna for my FM stereo in my garage, I saw this one and the price was right. I decided to give it a try as the price was right. Delivered quickly and as soon as I opened it I knew it was cheap. The wire and sheath were of inferior material and cheap. To my surprise, this did not improve the signal. Obviously designed to resonate at FM radio frequencies. So it's basically a 'random wire' for other frequencies, and you'd expect it to work so-so for, say, live TV channels. Thought I'd give it a try for that "off-label" purpose anyway, as it has a standard F-Coax connector and I have a spare TV in the basement and don't have the hassle or expense of fitting an external one antenna or something big and flashy like Mohu Leaf, especially since I almost never watch TV channels on this TV.
