Excellent product in clips

they fit me perfectly. I used them to install a crown bar that was longer than I could handle on my own. You have been very useful to me.

Makes the job a lot faster

These little plastic figures really made my job easier as I usually work alone. Working with the 12ft molding on the stairs was quite difficult until I found them. They hold the molding while I install and nail it. worth your money!

Good for occasional DIY use

Sure helps, but if they were a bit tougher they would be better. So for the longest pieces they can give you have to be very careful. I was able to install a 14ft barrel myself and it wouldn't have been possible without something like this. But you definitely need 3 or 4 for a 12-14 foot piece, and even with that they can slip forward when using a 5 1/2 crown.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Great idea for a crown!

Ideal for measuring and fitting crowns when you don't have a second pair of hands. I used to make an extra arm out of a long 2x4 leaning against the wall, but this is much easier to do and never needs adjusting for walls of different heights. I use multiple tape measures when running the tape measure across the ceiling and holding the long crown strips when installing.

Pros
  • Easy Fitting
Cons
  • Clueless

Crown King: Replacement Parts

Where to Start? Fastcap is a Washington DC company that manufactures products that assist in various aspects of the construction industry. This particular product was very helpful as I am an independent contractor with no helpers. These bad boys will help you install a 16ft curtain rod with ease! Surprisingly they are able to hold a solid piece without breaking when moving your ladder to the trailhead or joint. Two thumbs up! Another great addition to your tool bag.

Life Saver!: Body & Paintwork

These little ones save anyone working alone. I'm a homeowner with no carpentry experience, decorating and crowning a new home is by far the hardest part. The Fastcap clamps make the process much easier. A tip: For smaller sizes, like my 4" bar I'm using above, be careful how close you install them to the ceiling as they can get stuck. More is not a problem as the clip needs to be set deep enough to fit the crown to leave enough room for removal.

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • No Performance

For example, the second pair of hands will help

I've always loved the look of moldings and decided to hang them up when I was planning to repaint my living room. I didn't have anyone to hold me so after watching the videos I decided to give it a try. They are easy to use and gave me the extra pair of hands I needed when no one else was available. Just like having someone help you, you need to make sure the top and bottom edges of the molding are snug against the ceiling and wall before nailing it down. They are just as easy to use as shown…

Wow! Totally impressed!

I stumbled across these gems when I was first learning about installing moldings. It was of great help. You leave the mounting of the strips to one person. I used drywall nails (with a large flat head) to secure them as regular sized nail heads tended to let the clips slip off. My moldings were about 4 5/8 inches wide and the clips held with no issues. I needed about 2 mold parts to get my process into production line mode. I would recommend it for installers of all levels. Good value for…

Better than a human helper.

It's great. They allow one person to install longer portions of the crown. The human assistant tends to move the piece it's holding while these hooks allow the B end to move freely while you carefully adjust the A angle. Use drywall nails to hang the hooks and be careful when installing them because if they are set too high you will not be able to detach them from the wall. In addition, the nail must be driven in deep enough so that the hook does not slip off the nail, but not so deep that the…
