Installation of a water shut-off valve with automatic shut-off.

Installation was easy. I had a small leak at one end of the thread. It was fixed by cleaning the threads and reinstalling the tube lube. I installed the device as a whole home appliance on the main installation. The only complaint is that there aren't enough connection cables for the sensor. I wanted to place the sensor more than a few feet away from the device so I had to splice the wire and make it longer. I will be adding more gauges in the near future to cover the dishwasher and the…

Did my job! It's worth it.

I had a 20 year old 50 gallon water heater. I was nervous that it would eventually leak and I didn't want a flood. (I had a flood in January 2020 due to a leak under my sink that went undetected - thousands of dollars worth of damage. Unfortunately NOT where I happened to have a leak detector. Now I have Govee radio leak detectors under every sink, every toilet (fridge, dishwater, washing machine and everywhere in my basement.) I had this plug installed by a master plumber. I didn't trust…

. So I replaced it with something better. Fortunately, all valve cycles were done for testing and practice purposes only. I've never had a real leak. Now I have a Fibaro Flood Sensor ZW3, a water leak detector. Shut-off valve Z-Wave. (Well made and industrial.) Valve. I can control everything with the SmartThings iPhone app. I get a notification as well as an SMS when there is a leak. The alerts will continue every hour until I cancel.

Excellent service support

This is a really good alarm and water stopper. The U-Tube video perfectly explains how to install it. Mine was installed (by a plumber) with the manual bypass valve turned on, so if the valve was indeed working and had trouble turning it back on, I could manually divert the water supply to the house via a parallel copper line. The device gives me some peace of mind when nobody is at home for a long time. The service support for this device is really very good. Lightning recently struck near the

Fantastic item, works well and great manufacturer support

Great product and excellent customer service from the manufacturer when needed. You should always turn off the water manually when you leave your property, even if it's just for a few days. However, this device can prevent thousands of dollars in damage if a leak occurs with the line open. Water causes damage quickly, even a small leak can cause major damage in a short period of time. This device has a great sensor printed on both sides and literally a drop of water is enough to set off the…

Water heater wrench, 3/4 " pipe

The water heater in my old house ruptured causing the garage ceiling to collapse from water leakage. new home as the water heater is in the attic above two floors of the living space at the bottom of the water heater the electrical parts are very easy to connect. The hardest part will be connecting the pipes. So you might want to hire a plumber if that's not your thing. I recommend screwing an extra few inches of pipe into a floodstop, and then soldering the pipes on the other end so the heat…

FloodStop Interlock shuts off water instantly and requires no monthly fee

I purchased a FloodStop automatic water heater shutoff valve, FS3/4NPT, V4 control, water damage prevention two years ago for $125. I installed it where the water pipes enter the house, right after the meter and before the water pipes. I bought additional sensors to protect the water heater, washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator and sink in the basement. A larger leak elsewhere in the house will eventually drain into the basement. Maybe one day I'll install sensors near every toilet. It is…

Great for protecting the whole house

A few weeks ago my neighbor almost got kicked out of the house because a clumsy washing machine was left unattended. I've seen contractors come and go, ripped up floors, moved fans and dehumidifiers, and utterly wrecked people's lives, and these events have provided me with a powerful reminder of how a relatively small problem can quickly become a major disaster. Three weeks and they still can't go home. So, with fresh thoughts, I set out to find something. anything to reassure me that this…

Simple but may require a modernized design.

In a way I'm even surprised that such devices aren't made anymore, since the design is relatively simple and relatively low-tech. The item looks a little tricky to install although it just connects the wires and puts in the batteries and then installs the electronic ball valve on the cold water inlet. The system works by sending 3.3 VDC. Signal via the signal cable to the sensor itself. The sensor itself has a conductor track with polarity reversal. When a drop of water falls on the sensor…
