Easy to use and perfect fit

I was a bit concerned at first because if you look at the pictures there are some things in the tank that are not in the new kit. Having completed the first of two toilets and not reusing the old parts I can tell you it didn't matter and the replacement parts that came with the new kit did the same job! Just so you know, when I removed the cistern I noticed that the old parts weren't installed the way all the new parts should be, but that's okay because everything fits as it should and both…

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE KOHLER

Probably one of the worst products I've bought from Revain. The description must clearly include the disclaimer that this product is not suitable for Kohler. The seal included in the kit DOES NOT APPLY to Kohler and other brands. This seal alone costs 13 dollars at Lowes. About the same price for this kit. The handle that comes with the kit is a cheap piece of plastic that has been chrome plated. Cheap, cheap, cheap! I had to make three trips to Lowes to get all the "extras" needed for this…

Not for Gerber or Kohler - read me!

Not suitable for Gerber or Kohler toilets if you replace the flush valve (the one with the damper). Gerber and Kohler have more space between the tank and shell. This kit will flow like crazy. But everything is fine with the filling valve. The problem is in the feed. What to do!? I bought a Fluidmaster K 507A 008 at a local store for $15. It comes with a seal for Gerber and Kohler toilets. It also has an adjustable overflow pipe which is way better than the one in this kit. Installed today and…

With the same success, you can take this kit and replace everything at once!

I have just moved to a new apartment where I noticed that the toilet valve was leaking causing it to burst about every 10 minutes or so. Rather than having to worry about maintenance and having to schedule it during Covid, I felt that for less than $20 it would have been a lot easier to just fix it myself. All I really needed was the cap and the seat as the current one was leaking right there but I figured since the tank would have to be removed anyway I'd grab the kit and replace everything to

Installation is moderately easy and satisfaction is high.

This is a reliable and efficient product. Installation is relatively easy, and you can completely "repair" your old toilet in an hour. Now it works perfectly. I deducted a star because the "donut" (the giant rubber gasket that seals the joint between the cistern and the toilet body) was too small to properly seal our (circa 1991) standard Gerber flush toilet. We had to reuse an old donut that was probably about 1/3 larger than a new one. The instructions are clear enough, although some of the…

Full installation requires removal of tank

To install the tower, the tank must be removed from the bowl. In my case it was the 70's so the bolts in the tank were pretty rusty which made the task difficult. Luckily there are new screws in the kit so there were no problems reassembling. There was some type of sealant or caulk around the old o-ring between the reservoir and bowl and nothing was listed or mentioned in the instructions so I just removed all of the old sealant and followed the instructions and it all worked great. This was a…

Reasonable price but NOT easy DIY. You must remove the tank to use it!

Okay I've been changing guts in toilets for decades and never had a problem before. I recently moved to a newer home and found I didn't recognize the inside of the fancy toilets they installed. And I shot. Having no idea what was in store for this other thing (looks like a giant black pipe that extends up to allow water to drain into a very large hole in the ground), I figured I'd do the whole thing just replace. with this attitude. Not so fast! This setup is budget friendly, but it's NOT an…

Good product, difficult to install if you are inexperienced

Oh my god this is a good product and my toilet is working really well now (it's been about 6 weeks since I renovated it with this kit have). But the recovery process itself is not for the faint of heart. It was very difficult to take my toilet apart and remove the old flush set and I don't recommend it - whoever installed my old one overtightened every locking nut - but a lot of people overtighten things, and you will probably come across the same. I had to melt and break a large plastic lock…

Good kit plus some installation tips for newbies

I installed this kit on 3 of my toilets replacing a dedicated 8 year old builder. The instructions are mostly good, but the first install took me 3 hours of swearing. I'm quite skilled and an engineer, but I have no plumbing experience. The second install took about an hour and the final install took about 30 minutes. Nice set and everything works very well. My husband loves that the flow rate is adjustable so now you get a good flush that leaves nothing behind. Quieter than custom builder…
