Keeps disconnecting from computer

I had a ScanSnap ix500 that NEVER lost connection to the computer. I didn't replace it with the ix1500 because I was complaining about that model losing connection to the computer. I bought the ix1600 thinking you solved this problem. But now the computer loses connection about every 48 hours and I have to spend an hour or more restarting the computer and scanner to get them working again. And it's with a wired connection, not an internet connection, so it's not a problem. I'm no longer a fan…

A qualitative leap forward over its predecessors

This is the third ScanSnap I have bought in 11 years. I love these scanners for their compactness, high quality, and convenience. But the ix1600 is the biggest improvement I've seen over its previous generations. It scans at remarkable speed with minimal noise and amazing capabilities (found a sheet of paper that was thicker than the rest of the pages scanned and asked me to confirm it didn't skip pages by scanning too many at once). And I love the ability to share this scanner with multiple…

Tried for 4 hours and still can't connect or install software. WTF?

Reviews of this scanner are great and I also had an older ScanSnap duplex ADF scanner about 6-7 years ago that I really liked - such technique. But I've had this new ix1600 scanner for 24 hours now and have spent 4 hours hooking it up to my PC and installing the software and I'm completely blown away at how complicated they have made it. The instructions are so confusing, going in circles, not clear how many programs I need to install, how many .exe files I need to download; The "Manuals" link…

Fantastic scanner, highly recommend.

I bought my first one about 12 years ago and it has lasted so long without a fault. This has allowed me to practically get rid of paper documents that we deal with on a daily basis - bank, financial and insurance reports, bills, receipts, medical records and permits, etc. etc. I've always waited for my original to break before I can get a new one , but it just doesn't die 😼. Eventually he stopped eating properly so I was able to get an iX1600. It appears to be just as well built as the older…

Best scanner I've ever owned

I've had Visioneer, Canon, Epsom and Brother scanners over the years. I've had my eye on the Fujitsu Scansnap for years because of the rave reviews. I finally got it - and I regret not having done it years ago! The Fujitsu Scansnap ix1600 is an amazing device. I've scanned 100 year old historic property documents - odd size, wrinkled, varying lengths and widths, terrible quality originals (faded, smudged, etc.). Result? Simple, lightning fast and scans are easier to read than originals! My…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • It's ok

Used to be a loyal and longtime Scansnap user (S1500M which still works great) - I wanted to love him. However, it never came out of the package as the software requires downloading and is not included on any installation media. There's a companion app for iOS, but unfortunately I had issues with both, and after getting too frustrated I decided it wasn't going to be a smooth out-of-the-box experience; then I go out. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a great piece of hardware and for some people

Pros
  • Document scanner
Cons
  • I'll write later

TLDR; Works, works well and is quite intuitive to use. Firstly there is a non-touchscreen version, if you use it a lot the touchscreen is worth the extra money. Works on 2.5 and 5 GHz or can be connected via USB. Teachers, I have found these scanners to be very useful during distance learning. I have an Epson, but it's having some trouble scanning something that isn't a regular sheet of paper. This scanner was a huge upgrade, mostly because of the software, for both the PC and the machine you…

Better than my last ScanSnap

I've had the S1500 for a long time. It still worked, just outdated software. I bought an Epson network scanner for the office and it was very fast, but even though it was a new machine it had few features. I had to buy another scanner for my second office and read reviews of the iX1500. There was good and bad. It's not as fast as Epson, but it still scans fairly quickly. What I really like about this scanner is the receipt adapter. I scan my work receipts every day and it helps keep them in…
