They often break, but the kids love them.

We love Garmin vivofit Jr! My favorite thing to do is chores/rewards and adventure trail. My girls (5 and 8) are obsessed with hers! The only problem? BREAK. My 5 year old daughter has been replaced twice in the last 9 months because she keeps breaking. My 8 year old broke after 9 months and before that he had a smudge on the screen 2 months ago. Just be prepared to send them in for replacement/repair time and time again.

    DO NOT BUY RECONDITIONED MODELS.

Reviews are biased and combine a new purchase and a refurbished purchase. NOT BUT REPAIR. For so many dollars spent on Revain, this is the only bad buy I feel strong enough against. We only had it 2 months and it stopped working 2 weeks ago. We tried 6 different batteries and the Vaseline trick recommended by Garmin. After loosening and re-tightening 4 SMALL screws about 10 times, I gave up. Although my son loves the app and device, it's a rip off as long as it works. If it were a restored…

Fun and useful, but display quality issues.

I bought this in June 2017 for my daughter's 7th birthday. She really likes it, although to be honest we don't use all of the features (like the rewards tracking) on a regular basis. However, she uses the timer all the time. this is probably your favorite feature. In general it is very easy to use. However, after two months we had a very large patch of dead pixels in the center of the display. Googling this seems to be a fairly common issue with this product. This is disappointing as it is a…

Larger than child size - child-friendly design

For a while my 9 year old daughter wore a standard adult Garmin tracker and it was ridiculously large on her wrist. It's great that Garmin released a JR version of their tracker and it's more than just smaller. The Garmin vivofit JR offers many functions that are easily accessible with a single function button. Perhaps the most important thing is that it actually tells the time. There are so many fitness trackers out there that don't seem to care about time! It also has: a stopwatch, a work…

This is a MUST for those with young children.

This was the BEST addition to our home this year. I was a little hesitant to buy this watch. When a friend told me that her kids still love their watches after 2 months, I went ahead and bought one for my kids. It was wonderful. My kids now compete to earn points by doing chores etc. They ask for more chores or assignments when they are close to their goal. I love that it's managed by an app on my phone and that I can edit rewards and challenges. My kids love cleaning and cleaning timers, the…

So far I've never felt the need to write a review. You could call it a way out without arguing, but I want people to think twice before throwing their hard-earned money into this expensive product. .$79 !Yes, I think it's expensive. But I was impressed with what he had to offer and ordered it in May '17 as a gift for my 9 year old daughter. We were happy with the product, although the screen size was a little disappointing. It fit her wrist and she was happy. It was easy to connect and install…

    Great design and great features!

Bought this for my 8 year old's birthday two weeks ago. Garmin Vivofit Jr. turned out to be more amazing than I expected! The day after her birthday I ordered the Vivofit Jr. for her children aged 5 and 10. Every kid is really interested in all features, steps, daily activity time, chores done, coins received, timer and stopwatch. Before bed, my kids like to read the trail, the next clue, or the animal. We sat down as a family to award prizes. On Fridays, when they have earned enough coins…

    • Questionable purchase for the elderly

I have overtaken one for each of my kids. I had to buy another band for my older boy because this one was too small for him. We previously tried and sold another brand because: 1. No charging! The battery should last about a year. So far after a few months they become strong.2. Active minute tracking, step tracking and sleep tracking! My kids love the active minute tracking, mostly because it's like my husband's Apple Watch is "ringing" which he's always trying to close. I even buy vivofit 3 to
