🚰 Goulds J5S Shallow Well Jet Pump - 1/2 HP, 115/230V Review

Needed to replace a 3 year old pump that has failed and never worked properly. Bought this one, it's so quiet we can't even hear it being turned on (unlike the last one which the whole neighborhood could hear!) Hope this one lasts a long time.

Works so good but a little unclear how supposedly brand new product (and all paperwork) got soaked and had some rust on the outside (don't look in). Hm. If they are renovated, they must be advertised as such.

This pump replaces my Gould J-03 after 30 years of continuous use. I wouldn't consider any other brand. I've seen other reviews of the restoration due to the wet packaging. I work in the trucking industry and can confirm that all pumps are factory tested including dishwashers and washing machines. They will still have some water inside after the quality control/testing process. These pumps are new.

This pump has replaced a smaller capacity, lower pressure rated pump. I am very satisfied with the performance of this device. This has allowed me to go from a 30-50psi system to a 40-60psi system which produces much better volume and pressure in the home and outdoor water applications I have Has. Replacement or initial use of a shallow well pump.

Very good pump, I have two, this one and 1 1/2 HP Both push water uphill very well and seem to meet the company's specs. I use this pump to water a large garden and more. Mine was set for 120v, not 240v. But 120v will give you enough power for a smaller pump. They are so efficient that they don't have to work as long to irrigate. Set on timer, works flawlessly, continues to thrive.

For 11 years I trawled through four "big stores" pumps and finally decided to find something better. Goulds was recommended by a man who is good at drilling and equipment. i understand why It works almost silently, the switch-on and switch-off pressure is easily adjustable. Love the fact that it's fully repairable and Goulds provides all parts to order. Must have been the last pump I ever bought.

This is the only pump you can buy when you need a shallow well pump. It has a very good price and is quiet. My plumber will not install another pump. He doesn't sell pumps, but if you need one he'll source one for you. I got this from Revain. He was there quickly and built it up and everything will be fine for the next 20 years. Normal rusty water droplets on the surface after testing before shipment; No problem. There are two areas of deep rust that do not have a burnt coating. I'm trying to replace a cheap Superior brand pump that has stripped and been pumping rusty water through my pipes since day one so I won't put up with this failure. First we had an old SIMMER 1/2 HP jet pump. for our shallow well. It was good enough but you couldn't shower and do laundry or wash and wash the car so we had to sway it all.
