As a reminder: Priceless

Not visible, but behind the reverse osmosis water tank (that's where the water collects). An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Tested it with some water and it works great. I hope I never hear this thing other than Twitter for a new battery.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Works as intended, very loud alarm

We installed this in the attic because we have a hard to find leak in the roof and needed to catch it while it was happening. This sensor went off during a rain shower in the middle of the night and lo and behold, I climb out the stairs and see small drops of water falling diagonally from the apron near the sunroof. It turns out the only time we get water in the attic is when a strong wind is blowing and it's coming out of a vent a few feet from a wet spot!

WOW THIS SAVES US TWICE ALREADY

I'm a real estate agent and bought one for a client. and I. We have a downstairs laundry room with no sewer. My little nephew soaked a sock in the laundry tub and we didn't notice. It was spilling and dripping all over the basement, wetting the insulation etc. I put one of these next to the washing machine a few months ago and this week I heard this weird squeaking sound. I went to the laundry and caught it just in time to avoid the same thing. It's so cheap and can save you a lot of repairs…

Good leak detector for the money.

This is great value for money and gives you the ability to add additional detectors at a very reasonable price (after setting up the first one with the required receiver that connects to your wifi). I think I'll end up with 6 detectors along with the base that together cost in the $70 range. When triggered they make a beep and after about 2 seconds a notification pops up on my phone. My fridge broke about a month ago and at 6am an alarm went off in the kitchen... the ice and everything in the…

Easy connection with old WLAN ring key and app

I bought their doorbell about 1 year ago then discovered they also sell water leak detectors so it made sense to buy from the same company and now I finally hooked it up and it took me about 10 minutes to set everything up would have. The Wi-Fi setup was a bit odd, prompting me to look for a Wi-Fi hotspot that didn't exist but was already connected. Really strange, but after that easy connection to the water sensor. The battery compartment is (too) difficult to open. Even after removing all 4…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

Not Loud Enough Best in Safety & Security

I bought it because it was the loudest I could find (only 100dB) and it also had a low battery. (Incredibly, most of them don't have a low battery beep, many require you to press a button to check the battery. Ask yourself how many times you press the button on your smoke alarms. Install it as soon as it arrives, while the family was upstairs i went down to the basement and installed it next to the water heater it took very little water to run which was nice i didn't check the top drippers it…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Flimsy

We need 150 alarm clocks for our condo. We bought and tried five different brands. All have been tested half a dozen times (connect contacts with a wet finger) and all rang every time, and this was one of the loudest. Then everything was carefully placed deep enough in the water that it could swim. This one died sometime between the 19 hour check and the 24 hour check while the other three continued playing to the last point, probably because this one uses two AAA batteries instead of the…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons

Converted to a cheap wired design

I wanted really loud, not smart (I don't want more people getting more of my data through apps), not expensive and something that wouldn't require charging batteries. After much searching, I could not find an option that would fit this description. However, I was able to convert this to AAA battery using a Leninka power supply, replacing 2 AAA batteries to make it wired. So I can plug it in and not have to change batteries. The total cost is around $25 at the time of writing. This device is…

Household Bait and Switches Sensors and Alarms

Nowhere in this list does it say that the thermometer/hygrometer sensor gateway is a different model (H5041) than the water sensor gateway (H5040), only that you it can connect to your Govee Wi-Fi Gateway. The model numbers on the Gateway listings are well hidden by the wall of text around them, and the descriptions still don't mention that they aren't compatible with other sensors. The two gateways are visually identical (probably the only difference is the firmware, which doesn't allow…
