Ideal for older cats who do not want to eat.

I have used this product to feed my many cats for many years. ALL my cats love sprinkling barley cat powder over their food. I first discovered this while desperately trying to adopt an aging cat that had recently lost her companion and stopped eating. With a nourishing gel on my finger, I slowly persuaded him to start eating again, adding barley powder as a treat. It worked and I'm a fan for life.

The cats love it! on Herbal Supplements

Too bad it comes with a shaker. I need one of those long skewers that go on stuffed turkeys to poke holes in the protective case so I can shake dry kitten food with it every day. Also, keep it closed tightly or else it will stick together. All my cats loved this stuff and cats need green stuff. I've been just buying it online for 10 years now. They used to sell it in whole foods but I can't find it in ANY store! A cat only eats it by shaking it with food. Another cat liked the food or some warm

The BEST nutritional supplement for cats (all natural)! Perfect!

I have been using Green Foods Barley Cat Vits powder for years! Great price through Revain. Excellent product because: Easy to mix with 1/2 can or more of wet food or sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon over dry food and my cats love it! My all white cat shirt has a silky coat while my long haired cat coat has a luxurious feel. No digestive problems; no hairballs (but I brush them every day anyway). Wouldn't order any other brand. High-quality NATURAL ingredients in a light powder form. Green Foods Barkey…

Our cats LOVE this thing

We have 11 (yes, 11) rescue cats of various ages and a couple with special needs. They are between 18 and 1 year old. EVERYONE seems to love this stuff. Due to the couple's special needs, we feed them high quality prescription kibble, spending $50/week on kibble alone. We were looking for a dietary supplement that would benefit everyone, but especially our 18 year old and teen with irritable bowel syndrome. This stuff stinks, but they LOVE it. We dry and brush them and they lick the bowl of…

Love this product

I have this for our senior cat. She is diabetic and shows the symptoms that come with aging. She only eats dry food. I have to say that the results are really pleasing. In the few weeks she's been giving her this, she's gone from a slow (probably arthritic) cat to a cat in her prime. Their coat is of better quality and their energy levels and alertness are definitely better. She left and a shiver ran down her spine. I was told that sometimes this is a manifestation of back pain. This is now a…

FOUR PAWS BACK (2nd purchase)

I have no idea about the nutritional value of Barley Cat. When used as a supplement, this yields 14 servings for approximately $0.85 per serving at the manufacturer's recommended dosage. I use it as a flavor enhancer to encourage one of our cats to eat her Rx food for kidney failure. At this rate (1/32 teaspoon) I get over 400 servings for about $0.03 each. The REALLY GOOD PART: She accepts Barley Cat readily and seems to prefer sprinkling it on top of it rather than mixing it in with food or…

FOUR PAWS UP in Supplements & Vitamins

I was looking for a flavor enhancer for one of our cats who had kidney failure and an appetite problem. It's a "supplement," but it works to encourage my pickiest eaters to come to meals more often and eat more per session. I only use a pinch (actually the "little" scoop in those microspoon sets). SERVICE COST PLEASE LOOK AT MY SECOND PURCHASE REVIEW. Continuing with this review, I cannot give any credit to Barley Cat as I also include some prescription liquid vitamins (Amino B-Plex by Rx…

Barley cat helps my cat with digestion, nice coat and healthier

After losing two cats to various diseases last year (17 year old with kidney failure and 18 year old with oral cancer) this got me fully understand the importance of the importance of precaution. When I had a rescue cat last October who I was told was about 7 years old, I decided to feed her the best cat food I could reasonably find and give him supplements. He seemed to have a sensitive stomach as he vomited a lot. He could only tolerate one treat (green) and only kibble (if he got into…

Great for keeping a kitten healthy (4/5 green stars)

Cats love to eat grass. If my cat has been housed for several days, the first thing she does when she's released is to chew fresh grass. Even feral cats get their greens, and the reasons seem to be twofold: fiber and nutrition. Grass fibers can induce vomiting and help the cat throw up hairballs or other indigestible objects that it may have swallowed. Barley Cat is made from barley juice, so it won't make you vomit like a whole herb. This is probably good since you don't want your cat throwing
