great way to release 'fairy smoke'

As you would expect, high quality, you can't go wrong with Honeywell HVAC parts. It was an exact replacement for a transformer that I had blown due to a wiring error. Oops! (Tip - don't connect "R" directly to "C", haha, great way to release "fairy smoke"! I definitely know better. But it was too late. DOH!)

used this to connect the gas magazine to the nest thermostat

worked very well for my application. It was very nice that this would work with a millivolt gas log along with a 110V fan and also with a Nest thermostat hooked up. Now I can manage my gas log remotely via my phone/tablet/web which is very convenient. The only drawback is the volume of the relay. Apparently it was designed to be hidden in an oven where the relay's click would be hard to hear. But considering how easy it was to get all these disparate voltage devices to work together, the loud…
