I bought these for my kids to play with. I put the batteries in pink and played with it after a few minutes, it overheated. It started smelling and my 4 year old daughter couldn't even hold it in her hand. I took out the batteries and the whole device is very hot and smells awful. Absolutely not safe for children!

3 out of 4 radios were not finished. I haven't put batteries in all of them yet to see if that's the only problem. But so far 3 of them are missing a piece that connects the headphones. One has. It also took about 15 minutes to open the 4 headphone covers to even see they weren't ready. I'm disappointed. The kids wanted them to be used for clandestine spy missions and headphones were vital for that.

Four grandkids aged 2 and 6 and 8 and 10 are having so much fun with this. The radios live with their grandparents. When one of the families goes camping or camping, they take a set with them. With 2 walkie-talkies, they can have fun with their friends and make new ones. In that regard, durability, sound quality, headphones, and volume control are all 5 stars. This is fantastic! I have children aged 16, 11, 9 and 8. Each of them received one. The earbud is a lifesaver for me as I'm tired of listening to them all the time. We ordered these for our hikes so the kids could be a little more independent. There are 4, 5 and 7 of them and the walkie talkies were easy to use for each of them! We found that when our adult walkie-talkies were on the same channel as the children's, we could hear them, but we couldn't communicate back, which we were happy about without fear of strangers communicating with them could.
