Description of ✨ ImpressArt - Basic Typewriter Lowercase 3mm Metal Stamp Letter Set for Engraving, Stamping & DIY Handmade Jewelry: Create Stunning Designs!

Typewriter is a vintage typeface that is clear, recognizable, and easy to read. It’s perfect for typing a nostalgic touch into your unisex, stamped creations. Size: 3mm (Size is based off of the height of capital letters and the tallest lowercase letter.) | Lowercase includes full lowercase alphabet and question mark “?” stamps. In order to prevent rust, these stamp sets are lightly coated with oil. Simply wipe down with a dry paper towel or rag before using. (Avoid wiping with anything wet - water will cause stamps to rust.). Please note that sides of basic stamp are NOT labeled with markings. | For stamping soft metals including aluminum, pewter, Alkeme, copper, brass, nickel silver, and also wood. Do not use on stainless steel. Make sure you are working with a flat brass head hammer and steel bench block on an even and stable table. Creative and unique metal stamp, perfect for making jewelry, DIY projects, and customized presents or keepsakes. Perfect for labeling your original crafts & jewelry pieces.

It would be really nice if they put a sticker on it

I bought these stamps to make my own tokens. The only downside is that there are no indicators on the striker which stamp is which. Going through them all to find the right letters can be a real pain. Also, "N" and "U" are very similar (I'm still not sure which is which). It would be really nice if they put a sticker or stamp the end so you can easily find the right letter and make sure it's lined up correctly. Also, they are REALLY easy to knock over and they will all fall out.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

Nice letters easy to use

Metal stamping is new to me and these stamps were very easy to use. I made personalized necklaces for our daughter's volleyball team using 1" punched aluminum rounds and 5/8" rectangular charms. It took me a few spaces to figure out where to place the dies and how hard/soft to hit them with a hammer, but I got the hang of it. I originally tried these on Lowes zinc metal discs and just couldn't hit them hard enough to make a clear impression. So that was a learning point - softer metal was…

Excellent for aluminium, bronze, brass and pennies (nickel/zinc).

So far they have done a great job with aluminum blanks. I hardly have to press at all to get a printout. With that in mind, they also work well with tin with no issues. You really don't need a hard hit. For bronze and brass and coins, I have to hit my 2 pound hammer a little harder, but only lightly. I've tried practicing on 26 gauge steel but to no great extent. However, it was hardware store quality, so it must have been hardened. I have not had the opportunity to test 304 or 316 stainless…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
