Great relief to buy

It was a relief! My toy dog had surgery and was placed in a plastic cone. She faced everything and got stuck again and again. I didn't sleep because she stayed up all night because she was unwell. I received this collar and it was much more comfortable. It was easy to see and eat, which the cone of plastic shame would not allow. Sleeps all night and still won't let her cut. Excellent purchase.

FALSE ADVERTISING

Thanks guys! This waste of time and money works SOOO well. Well it's a joke. Do you want me to bill you for false advertising? (Edit: One of my bitches had to spend a week at the vet because she half-licked her stitches.) Sarcasm aside, BOTH my bitch's neutered spots are wet and the stitches are dissolving. This product will NOT prevent your dog from licking surgical sites. DO NOT BUY! Yes, I measured both necks and bought the right size. They have 13" and 14" necks and weigh 25 pounds so I…

Attention - apartment within 12 hours!

Rubbish - don't buy! I opened this up after work and put it on my pup around 7-8pm because he didn't want to leave the hotspot by himself. He didn't like it (what a dog would like it) but was comfortable enough to sleep with him. Was very excited to see it works so well and has a removable (washable) cover. Unfortunately, the trenches last long enough to even get dirty. It was flat before I woke up in the morning! Apparently there is a tear in the seam which must have been a slow leak! My dog…

Works well enough not to sting my eyes

My 25 pound 12 year old Vesti has had eye problems from cataract surgery for several months. A medium-sized inflatable cone filled with recycled plastic bags (someone else's idea in these reviews) was the most effective at preventing her from paw rubbing her eyes and further damaging her cornea. She can still lay her face on the carpet and rub herself if she really wants to, so I watch her during the day and use a regular plastic cone at night. I never used the inflatable part as I figured…

Too small to do what it was designed to do

I have two Border Collies who have just been spayed so I was really looking forward to replacing their giant Elizabethan collars (cones) with this product, since we were successful used a similar product for my yellow lab a few years ago. The product description and packaging specifically lists Border Collies as medium sized, which is why I bought them. As soon as I unpacked it, I knew it was going to be too small. We inflated them and put them on the dogs and both dogs were able to reach their

Didn't work on my pup

The concept of this is great! Much better than Cone of Shame. Unfortunately it didn't work for my pup. After his operation (neuter) the ladies at the vet clinic said he even came out of her with a collar! They said they had never seen anything like it! With that, he can still curl up to lick himself. I resorted to having him wear a diaper, a baby bodysuit and a neck pillow at night (I DO NOT trust him!), and then just bodysuits during the day. I use a neck pillow when taking him outside to do…

It's been working fine for two months now

my dog has had an inflatable cone for a few months now (almost non-stop) and doesn't seem to mind much. He seems to make him snore by resting his neck on him like a pillow to help him sleep. And when the velcro runs under his neck, it's flexible enough to get to the spots we need to avoid. So we need to keep an eye on the cone to make sure the strap is on his neck and not under his chin. To do this, we have to rotate it several times a day. But overall, it's a better long-term option for him…

Good but not for long-nosed dogs

The pump broke on first use so I blew it up the old fashioned way. Not easy with asthma. If your dog has a long neck and muzzle like mine, then this ring is not big enough. It hugs his neck perfectly, but doesn't stick out far enough for him to chew his tail. I had to borrow a bigger one from a friend and even then I have to use them together. This dog is full of determination! But since he doesn't like wearing it that much, I don't use it as a disciplinary measure. He has an OCD/anxious…

small and doesn't hold air

That's a good idea and I was really hoping because I hate the cone. But that's cheap junk. Don't buy this, I was up all night watching my dog because he won't be wearing a cone and this thing is so thin and tiny it won't stop a larger dog from licking anywhere. So annoying I didn't buy a thicker one! From the start I finally figured out how to inflate it because the instructions were missing a big step and then I find out that every time it is pressed it starts deflating and deflating. Even…

bad design for dogs

My dog has been wearing it for about a week now. The included pump is as cheap as you can get, and the head doesn't slide into the area preventing air from escaping (easy inflation without a pump, so no big deal). The Velcro on the strap only covers the front half of the strap. So if you need to fasten the donut somewhere close to the fully closed clasp, it just attaches with a small piece of velcro and can pop out with normal canine movement (sewn on in a larger size to solve the problem). the
