These virtual school days are a great way to learn

. I bought this for my nephew who is not going to school due to Covid 19. I wanted my sister to do some fun science experiments with him. And it was great. I had to laugh that in one of these projects Pluto is still considered a plant. But otherwise it was a lot of fun during this virtual school time.

Pros
  • hands-free
Cons

Best suited for 5 to 7 year olds

My 9 year old son who loves space themed crafts didn't like it very much, this item should be appreciated for younger children. The rocket science experiment he'd been looking forward to didn't work either, lacking the speed and dexterity even an adult can command to close a canister quickly enough for a rocket after pouring vinegar and baking soda.

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Secret

7 year old loved it

This was a fantastic birthday present for a 7 year old. He was very excited to receive it and couldn't wait to get into it (although he's received some other great gifts as well). He was impatient to get started. It was easy for him to use it alone or with the help of his mother and father. I will be looking for more for future gifts. Highly recommend if you have a kid interested in space.

Pros
  • Great product

Great Gift for STEM Education

My son was interested in the stars, sky, astronauts and planets. When I found this I thought it would make a great gift for him. It didn't disappoint! This product is great quality, great instructions and hours of fun and learning for kids! My son is under the recommended age range but with my help he was able to complete the project and learn so much about our solar system.

  • Great for Me
Cons
  • No Introduction

More than I expected

This is one of the best gifts I have ever bought. My son has special needs. In most cases we were lucky enough to get one good item and one mediocre item from such boxes. But we could use any of the included items. Everything was of good quality and worked even better than described. We used the rocket several times. It was perfect for shooting but not perfect so we needed a huge field to launch it. It's perfect for the front yard. The kaleidoscope is amazing too. Can't say enough good things…

  • One year trial

  • So far so good

Rocket did a great job with the

I was missing the ingredients for the rocket, namely white vinegar and baking soda. I tried apple cider vinegar and baking soda but couldn't close the lid fast enough for it to explode. So instead I used elephant toothpaste to which I added 1/5 yeast with a drop or two of warm water and just a drop of dish soap and filled with hydrogen peroxide. It took 2-3 minutes and we almost gave up but this rocket hit the ceiling of my cathedral and my kid loved it. We liked that no glue was required and…

Pros
  • elephant toothpaste. Lots of positive emotions

Most Fun Science Activity Sets and Toys

I ordered this for an astronomy class and the kids had fun with it. It contains everything you need to complete the activities, except for the cream-filled cookies used to represent the phases of the moon. The instructions are simple and the materials are simple and colorful. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that the crafts are a bit small and a bit flimsy, and the gameplay is very simple and easy - not as hard as we hoped, but overall it's cute and a lot of fun! I also think…

Some inaccuracies, minor design flaw

So we only completed 4 tasks, but I'm not too impressed. First, there are a few inaccuracies in the in-game facts (e.g. how many moons certain planets have or how long they take to orbit the sun). Then, for mobile, he casts Pluto and even writes a cute little joke. how cold it is, but in-game they actually indicate that it's actually just a dwarf planet, so I'm not sure what happened there. The kaleidoscope is a joke. I don't know what I was expecting, but a piece of tissue paper and cellophane
