Suitable for my purpose. in cassette players and recorders

This is a cheap product but it works great for my purposes. I recently removed all my old albums, cassettes and audio components from 20 years of storage in my garage. By the way, my old albums sound fantastic. I have over 200 old cassettes that I wanted to keep on my tape recorder. My tape recorder was in dire need of repair. So I bought this Jensen cassette player instead, hooked it up to my old reel and started recording my old cassettes. I also didn't want to turn my old cassettes into…

Perfect, perfect value for money cassette player, highly recommend.

I bought this cassette player to play some old cassettes that I use in class. This is fully compliant. The headphones that come with the player are clean and comfortable. The quality of the cassette player is really good, the sound is clear, without hum or other noise. I'm really. very surprised how well it works so far. I looked at other players, vintage new in packages and priced at $20 and up. If you are looking for a cheaper option, this is the one for you. Note that like older portable…

Works when you need something temporarily. Long-term use? Won't happen

This cassette player isn't exactly the best choice. Maybe if you're starting out with cassettes, yes, but first warning: this player isn't designed to play cassettes longer than 90 minutes and will likely damage them like mine did. The radio works perfectly. The lid is flimsy and can snap off instantly if dropped, but it's easy to fix. The speed is often wrong and can be adjusted, but you will need a very small screwdriver. Even if you have the right size screwdriver, it's extremely annoying…

Jensen plays well, does its job, and is affordable

I leave reviews for other buyers because everyone's hard-earned money should be spent wisely - and well. I bought this Jensen cassette player as my Sony Walk-Man finally broke after about 25 years! I know it won't last as long, it's not that well made, but for the price it was a great buy. I have so many cassettes and enjoy using them to run this player. I put a low drain battery in it, nothing expensive, and after a couple of weeks it's still working fine. Sound quality is excellent - other…

Surprisingly Decent Basic Portable Cassette Player

This is a really simple, no frills and no frills portable cassette player with AM/FM radio. Overall, this Jensen player performs better than the currently available Sentry and Memorex cassette players. The build quality of this device is acceptable for the price, but don't expect 90's AIWA/Sony Walkman quality. The body is made entirely of plastic. It's solid enough in your hands, but it doesn't feel as "premium" as the devices from the '80s and '90s. The sound is stereo and decent. It doesn't…

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Some little things

I was in the market for a cassette player. I was working on a project to convert audio cassettes to MP3. I read some reviews here and was a bit hesitant. Now that I've been actively using this device for a while, I'd like to address some of the other review comments and leave you with my own. 1) People have complained that this device doesn't have a reverse button, but some didn't know until they got it. Well, read the whole description and look at the pictures, you will immediately understand…

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Good value for money. Solid and robust cassette player with mono radio but very good stereo from cassette. Good radio reception, especially AM. FM mono reception is good but sound quality is mediocre but for a great radio I still use my Sanjean (takes 2 AA batteries too for long life between swaps). The lack of return is not a problem. There's a low hum (not tape hiss) that's only noticeable between songs or at very low volumes. But it's not noticeable, especially when you're driving, walking…

There is no audio quality, but this CAN work for you.

This cassette player isn't bad, but it's far from perfect. THE BAD: The big problem with this player is the sound quality. The music is very flat, there are no clear highs. Low bass is acceptable, but the midrange is very loud. There is also a lot of noise - white noise. I've used this player with everything from the included free earbuds, mid-range headphones (Panasonic RP-HT21) to higher-end studio monitor headphones (Sony MDR-7506 and Audio-Technica ATH-M30), so I know the problem is in the…
