Great suction power, quiet and compact

Owned by Shop-vac for many years. I wanted something more compact and portable, so I bought the WD-4. The built in storage is very handy for the wand and some accessories, though not all. When I used it for the first time, I was very surprised at how quiet it is and how great the suction power is in a small body. Haven't used it for wet work yet but I expect it to work well based on experience. The good news is that it is NOT made in China. I would buy another one without hesitation.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Almost everything available

Very good vacuum cleaner.

The vacuum cleaner works very well. I use it to remove foliage from my porch, which often gets wet from the frequent rains here on the mid-Atlantic coast. The vacuum also sucks a lot of water out of the grass carpet on my porch. If you leave the mixture of waste and water in the tank for several days, it will take on an unpleasant odor. I recommend tossing waste in the trash immediately after cleaning up a wet mess. Don't let him sit until the tank is full. The inside of the tank can be…

Not as advertised

This is my second WD5/P and a great vacuum for the wood shop. I gave it a 3 instead of a 5 because it was advertised as used in very good condition with damaged packaging. When I opened the box it looked brand new. However, when I assembled it, I noticed that part of the plastic locking mechanism was broken. Looks like it was dropped at some point and then put back in the box. I decided to keep the unit as the top was securely attached to the unit despite the broken part and it is a great…

All the pros, no cons

This is a really fantastic compact shop vacuum. It's not a space monster - it's taller than it is wide, so it doesn't take up much storage space. It's fairly light but well built and won't fall off when empty. It's strong but doesn't wake the dead (big plus - they actually sold mufflers for the Masters because they were so ^&%$#@! loud) - it's no louder than my Hoover. Like the filter's design, it's easy to replace (it's in a separate compartment) and won't be affected by wet use of the vacuum.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No paint required

Convenient vacuum cleaner

This vacuum cleaner delivers what it promises and more. It saves space and has more cleaning power than my shop vacuum could ever imagine. In addition, the floor nozzle changes from carpet to smooth floors at the push of a button. The hose and extension tube can be conveniently stored in an upright position - no problem! The top is very easy to remove to empty the canister and the air filter is very easy to remove and clean. The only negative I found was the collection bags - they are expensive

Pros
  • Quick-Change
Cons
  • Senior Citizen

All purpose wet/dry vacuum

Love the secondary air filter along with the bag filter in the drum. Being able to use a dust extractor on many household appliances is a great advantage, especially with an on-board socket for your household appliance that will turn the vacuum on and off as it cycles through the usage steps. Update - I was using the vacuum with my 12" Bosch miter saw and it held 8 cuts and the chain broke and my saw stopped working due to the vacuum not being able to handle the current drawn by the miter saw…

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Operating speed

A good vacuum requires only 6 amps of tool activation.

Given the low cost compared to other tool operated vacuums, this is a bargain. And it's pretty quiet, the filter and bag can be easily replaced, the filter can clean itself, which is pretty cool. However, I did get one (actually two of them) for use in my tool shop and I blew one because it was connected to my miter saw. I overlooked that it is only rated for 6 amps when the tool is activated. My 12" double bevel Dewalt miter saw was pulling a little more than that when I ran into the problem…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Negative impression

I never thought that I would be happy about a shop vacuum cleaner

. I chose Karcher WD5 primarily because someone noted in their review that the outlet/exhaust pipe isn't on the floor, so using vacuuming is inconvenient. don't blow off all the dirt you haven't reached yet. And I liked the fact that they are NOT made in China (ours were made in Italy). After 2 months of use in various messy projects and an unexpected flood in the house, we are very happy with the choice! Excellent suction power (adjustable); relatively compact body, fairly stable and…

Pros
  • . Like everyone else it's still
Cons
  • . Annoying

Interesting "multipurpose " vacuum cleaner

Interesting little multipurpose vacuum cleaner. The hose is a smaller diameter than I expected, it's the size of a normal household vacuum, not the larger diameter stock hoses I'm used to. Has a lot of suction power and the speed control works well. Activation of the tool is fairly limited, as others have pointed out, as only 15 amps can be drawn from a regular outlet and some of that has to be used to run the vacuum, leaving very little for the tool itself to do the work. I found the vacuum…

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
