Description of Kaytee Ultra Finch Blend 25 Ounce

Seed blend visually attracts more finches, in more varieties. Preferred 3-to-1 over Nyjer seed alone*. Soft mesh socks make it easy for birds to take hold and easily extract their food.

Finches love it for birds

Finches love it! I poured most of the sock into a plastic bag. I don't have that many finches yet and I don't want the whole sock to get wet and wet and moldy from the rain.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not bad but...

MADE IN THE USA!: Birds

Birds love this sock and I love seeing them visit frequently throughout the day. I also love that this product is MADE IN THE USA! I try to buy things made in the USA as much as possible.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Questionable Purchase for Seniors

The birds in my yard don't care

I saw a bird land on it and then immediately fly to another bird feeder. Finches and wrens are simply not interested here. They like food spilled on the ground after squirrels gnaw a hole in it.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Expensive

Birds disagree saying this is preferred over Nyger Sock

Birds do NOT prefer it over Nyger Sock. Someone will gnaw it - it means that he will eat it. But I think I will use the cheaper and preferred Nyger socks for Stieglitz, Tangar etc.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Obsolete

It works, but it's not pretty. useful for birds

Finches found it right away. And they loved him. The more they loved him and the more it rained, the uglier he became in the garden. After a week it looks like a used condom. We have a Nyjer metal feeder with portals that works just as well without being ugly.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Little things

Good product. good for birds

My bird feeders are always full of wonderful birds (and a few chipmunks). This is Finch's best seed and the product in the pack is just the way the birds like it. They like to hang upside down. The socks are well made and we keep refilling them. You can't go wrong with that, that's my opinion.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Modern

I guess they don't like its shape

The finches next to me just don't care, although they put it in a place they frequent. I'm not sure what exactly they don't like, but they won't come close. I think they don't like its shape because they are all over my neighbor's aviary.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

Ideal for finches and other small birds! Just beware of squirrels!

This is the bomb. I used to buy a sock with just Nyjer seeds, but it got eaten by a bear. It has a mix of other small seeds that goldfinches, redfinches and purple finches loved until a squirrel threw it on the ground and chewed on a sock. I had to buy another (third!) sock. I still have the tube it was sent in, if there is room in another sock I will start adding the seeds from that sock. Mind you, if you have wood rats they won't hesitate to gnaw holes in it, but finches, titmice and titmice…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • No effect

Don't buy if you have proteins

I ordered this along with ordering Kaytee Products Super Finch Sock 25 oz to test as this product is said to be preferred 3-1 over Nayer. I hung them on the same tree at the same time, about 5 feet apart. Every time I checked, there were fewer birds on this sock than on a Super Finch sock filled with nyjer. This sock deflated faster, but whether it was because it had more seed and therefore needed fewer separate feedings to drain, or because the squirrels were attracted to this sock and gnawed…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Almost never
