So glad I got it!

I'm so glad this little adapter exists! I was sad when trying to replace the gear knob in my Fiat 500 and found that it had no threads on the outside of the shaft. This adapter works great and adds some extra height to the handle!

doesn't look like it wants to break in row gears

Worked exactly as advertised, worked great on my e46, doesn't look like it wants to break in row gears, or even a very hard BMW backstop . I used this to rebuild my Mishimoto weighted shift knob and I love it. I'll post pictures later

Precise metal fittings.

Fits my 2002 mini cooper r53 perfectly. I took the old one off and screwed it on. It has three set screws that are very tight. This allowed me to screw the new derailleur onto some threads. High quality metal (not plastic like some I've seen). Worked really well on the Mini.

Perfect match for my BMW: body and trim

Runs like clockwork. Installed in my BMW. I gently tightened the set screws as recommended, yes the metal is soft but if you are aware of your strength they will be tight and will not budge without snapping. That, along with the bigger shifter, was the best $60 I've spent on my car. I really feel every transmission and this adapter made it possible!

  • Confident

  • Not bad

Great Shift Knob Adapter

I love this adapter, I used this adapter on my '97 BMW z3 so I could fit a Kei Project Pokeball shift knob to it. The screws that come with the adapter are very small and a little soft, but if you tighten them evenly, you don't have to worry about the adapter coming loose. I also applied thread lock to the bolts to keep them in place against vehicle vibration. All in all this is a great product.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Appearance

I used this in conjunction with a Ryan Star Racing (RSS) carbon fiber shift knob. The adapter was used to replace the original gear knob on a 1990 BMW 525i (E34) which failed after 28 years. I would recommend that you use this on a derailleur stem very close to the listed internal adapter size of 14.3mm to minimize wobble. I also recommend using blue Loctite for the set screws as they will loosen over time.

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • Useless features

It's not so good for Body & Trim

Haven't even had a drink all day. The screws have snapped off and are going further out. I'll probably just assemble my threaded switch or something. Update October 28th: Tired of screwing. Today I coated 2 screws with blue Loktite, the third was removed and fixed. I will update tomorrow lol. Update 11/25: Blueloctite didn't help. The adapter is basically useless. Bought one off ebay that had screws on the top and bottom of each section (6 screws total). I use about 10 days, no problems. I…

it's good there. If you pull up fairly hard or try to .

Works fine on my 2005 Mini Cooper S R53. It dangles a bit initially when you slide onto the switch, but after tightening the 3 set screws it feels solid. Please remember that this part does not come with a wrench or set screw socket. So make sure you have an M2.5 hex socket or hex key to tighten them. It goes without saying that a set of screws will dig into your derailleur a bit, so be prepared to make that sacrifice when installing it on your car. After it's tightened, it's good there. If you
