This is a very solid seat for the price. I would give it 5 stars except that the slow locking mechanism is actually too slow. It takes about a minute to fully close. Otherwise a lot.

The toilet seat is easy to install and durable, but you need to reinstall the toilet seat every few days. The toilet seat gradually moves to one side of the toilet. The plastic bolts are tight, but the holes in the toilet are larger than the bolts, so the seat moves gradually. I cannot recommend this toilet.

Great toilet seat at a reasonable price. The hinges and construction seem solid and it's still very easy to tighten, hold tight and keep clean. Highly recommended. We had one with metal hinges that only lasted a year and a half. One of the screw rods twisted and wouldn't go back properly.

The only problem is that these toilet seats need to be replaced about every year. The hinges break easily; they are hard plastic. Over time the self-closing seat just gets weaker and one day when you slowly lift the lid it just breaks. It's not gradual destruction, it just happens one day. I buy them every year because I really like them. I wish the hinges were stronger.

I've had the seat for 6 months now and it closes slowly and is a pleasure to sit on but I found the paint/paint to have yellowed so much that it's looks dirty even after cleaning. I suspect the yellowing is caused by the bleach based cleaner I use on the toilet, but I can't believe the toilet seat is incompatible with bleach or cleaning solution.

I decided that the toilet seat is a toilet seat. And what Kohler does has to be good. However, the edges of the lid are very sharp/angular, making the hand feel a little uncomfortable every time it needs to be lifted. The lid also closes too slowly. We've had a slow close before from another brand, which was great, but it closes at about 1/3 the speed and it's just annoying. Also disappointed to see this fastened with cheap plastic - our old used metal bolt. I doubt it will last that long.

The toilet seat was delivered on time. The installation guide (printed on the box) was very easy, only needed a screwdriver and took 10 minutes. The nuts and bolts are plastic but feel solid. The seat is secure and feels solid. The surface is bright white and looks like a white porcelain toilet. The lid has a graceful curve that gives it an elegant look.
