Great product, matches shock absorbers

I have been in the auto retail business for 15 years and know that KYB shock absorbers are good quality. That's why, besides the price, I bought these shock absorbers when I needed new ones for my minivan. I am very pleased with the improved handling and ride quality since installation.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Great replacement shock absorbers for a 2005 Town & Country or Caravan

These shock absorbers have restored a smooth 145,000 mile ride to a 2005 Town & Country. Installation is quick with a jack, impact wrench and extensions, 18mm socket and 18mm wrench. Less than 40 minutes to replace both rear shock absorbers. You don't even have to remove the tires.

Pros
  • This is fantastic
Cons

KYB Rear Shocks 344080 for 2006 Chrysler Town and Country

They fit my 2006 town and country perfectly and are about half the price at the local store. I recommend removing the tire as it is easier to compress the shock than to lift the axle while adjusting the shock. All in all a very easy setup no matter what.

Pros
  • Convenience Item
Cons
  • Clarity

No rubber eyelets for attachment

For 1999 Town and Country this did not work. Mounting holes do not have rubber grommets. Also thinner than my originals. Look at the picture. Look at your shocks first, don't rely on Revain for the fitment like I did. obviously I couldn't tell you.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • There are errors

Nice Ride Change Good for Parts

I didn't want to boost my van's performance with those advertised Original Equipment ride characteristics, so I bought them. Funny, I found my wife never felt the excessive bouncing off the back of the van, but I did. I was able to put both of them on my van in less than 20 minutes. Dude, some engineers really know how to do it right! The main thing is that they restored my ride and feel and fit right where the stock shocks were.

Pros
  • Great for Small Homes
Cons
  • Little Things

The stands looked just like the originals and worked well

Now I'm a KYB fan. The stands looked just like the originals and worked well. Just a reminder that someone else worked on a 91-95 Chrysler minivan, replacing the rear shocks made a huge difference to me, but replacing the front struts didn't make a huge difference but was a lot more expensive. So unless your front struts are utterly terrible, just replace the rear shocks and you're done. I mean it's still a 20 year old minivan.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Fits

Bad product or wrong fit?

I bought these because I have used KYB on some of my hot rods and race cars with good results. I installed them last week and everything looked fine, if a little stiff, which I liked. Driving to work today, the back of my van bounced like a basketball! Either one or both have failed, or they are not designed to be mounted at the angle they set on the town and country wagon. The support link leads to a non-existent page on the KYB website. I'll have to take one off and check but I think I wasted

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Good but not great
