A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

An excellent device, I didn’t test much, but where I used it, it performs its functions at 142%. I took it on the official website for 15,120. Prices on other sites are exactly the same. There are other models on the site, both more expensive and cheaper. I needed exactly this functionality. Overall satisfied with the purchase.

Pros
  • - Measurements of cubature, quadrature and other things automatically. - Measurement of height or length (eg building) from a single point in the distance. - Convenient belt pouch.
Cons
  • - 70% of the functionality in the application is paid. - In a set of very expensive device, very cheap batteries.

Pay to play. good for linear measurements

If I had known apps require a monthly or yearly subscription I would have bought something else. Too high a price for a subscription to the application. Free apps are terrible. I wouldn't care if it was a one-time fee, but I won't keep paying for bad apps.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some little things

Simply good. - Measurement and layout tools

I'm a surveyor, so I measure one to three objects four or five days a week. For the last five (5) years I have used a Bosch laser device. I've heard how accurate the disto is and how much easier it is to see the "red dot". After a few months I can't tell any difference between this Disto and Bosch.

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Useless IOS App Solved - Magic Plan

Stumbled across Magicplan on IOS and it blows the crappy Leica app out of the water. I am much happier now. I bought a Disto D2 as I am in the process of remodeling, the smart room feature shown in the Leica YouTube video of working with the Disto D2 does not work with it, you will need the next model Disto for an additional $100. .Sketch Plan software is awful to use and doesn't integrate well with D2 to transfer distances. It's very disappointing for a company like Leica to be so wrong. Since

Great product - poor documentation

This laser meter is a game changer! All of its features are amazing. The ability to save your measurements directly to CAD and the add/subtract feature is great! Quality material The only downside is the documentation that comes with it: it contains very little information and I couldn't figure out all the features. You'll have to do a Google search and even then this information wasn't easy to find for this model. Manufacturer's usage documentation is limited and you'll need to look at other…

Inexpensive bluetooth laser meter, shame the build quality has slipped

The new Disto D2 has Bluetooth functionality, which makes it very easy to transfer measurements from the laser gauge to apps such as Leica's own Disto Sketch (free) or MagicPlan (free app, you pay for the floor plan). You used to have to buy expensive high end models like my E7500i to get this functionality and they were heavier and more difficult to use due to the many features. They also increased range by 50%, which is nice. Unfortunately, the build quality of the device seems to have…

  • Absolutely amazing!

I love the features, I love the app on my iPhone!

Nice and bright. I bought the target card and goggles as common sense says I'll have a script for it one day. For those of you who say you can sketch faster by hand. You probably have a flip phone and hate technology? Out of the box I stumbled on the first night and stuck 5 minutes of gameplay in bullshit. BUT the next night, I quickly installed the app and used its intuitive features to paint my first room in seconds. I haven't read the manual. I will probably need help when it comes to 3D…

Pros
  • Excellent for me
Cons
  • I'll write later

Great little gauge but that's why I chose a different Disto model.

Considering the price and all the features the new Leica D2 has, this is a great little laser meter for most people. while you mostly measure inside. However, I mostly measure outdoors and since it doesn't measure reliably in broad daylight, after 2 days of testing at work I'm returning it to buy a Leica Disto X4. a few years and its laser dot was MUCH easier to see measured from the outside than D2 for two days trying to get it working for me. The D330i is also slightly larger than the D2 and…

DISTO integration, not what I thought and what a pain to press.

Full disclosure, I have two others, BOSH Professional GLM 30 and Kobalt LDM-35. Leica made a good device, no question, but of all the devices I like the BOSH best, although it doesn't have the range of the Leica, hence the 4 star rating. I bought this specifically to use the DISTO (bluetooth) integration with the Xactimate mobile app to set up insurance. While it worked as advertised, I felt the whole process was one step forward and two steps back compared to sketching on a piece of paper and…
