This works but is limited to Mac OS.

I wanted this permanent solution to have extra storage space on the MacBook Air. I'm happy to report that this works but is limited by the functionality of the operating system. For example, when you close or open your MacBook, you may get a warning that the media was not ejected properly. While that works, you can't just add more storage to your MacBook without potential problems.

Perfect for HP Pavilion Desktop

My HP Pavilion Desktop has a memory card slot that works with full size SD cards or adapters, but it's rather short. Normal adapters stick out. YC's card is PERFECT for HP, works great too. The build quality seems okay. I'm not expecting much for $6 and I won't be plugging or unplugging the card often. It seems like an improvement over other cheap, low-profile cards because there's an aluminum bar at the top that you can grab with your thumbnail to pull the card out. When it's in the computer…

Perfect length for my Samsung XE303C12 Chromebook

I specifically ordered them because they were cheap and about the right length for my old Chromebook 303C. I intend to run Debian or whatever on a Chromebook from an SD card, but standard sized SD cards stick out too much, which is an obvious problem when the OS boots from it. These adapters allow me to use a microSD card and are fully seated in the side of the laptop.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • There is a negative result

Will destroy your SD card slot

The plastic has a small ridge where the contacts are. Pulling it out of the SD card slot may catch and bend the SD card reader pins as the card is pulled out of your PC. My card reader is not unusable. Build quality sucks too. In fact, it falls apart where the microcard is inserted. DO NOT BUY IF YOU PLAN TO REMOVE THE ADAPTER FREQUENTLY. I've plugged and unplugged maybe 3 times and now my card reader is broken.

Sleek and minimal: memory card adapter

I have an early 2015 13" Macbook Air with just a meager 128GB SSD and I'm running out of storage fast. This is a great way to expand a very small solid state device. It's slim, minimalist, and looks very clean and almost part of my MacBook. At this price it is extremely reasonable. And a lot cheaper than most other adapters on the market! I bought a SanDisk Ultra 128GB microSDXC UHS-I card with adapter - 100MB/s U1 A1 - SDSQUAR-128G-GN6MA - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073JYC4XM/ref=ppx_yo…

Good adapter for laptops with short SD slots

A few months ago I bought an Acer Chromebook. Since the laptop was only 32GB, I needed additional storage, so I bought a microSD card that came with a standard SD card adapter. When I set the laptop up and plugged in the regular SD adapter, I noticed that it was 0.5-0.75 inches longer. It didn't make much of a difference, except that I had to be careful when transporting my laptop. However, for aesthetic reasons, I opted for a short adapter so that the card does not protrude so far. This…

Good idea. Poorly implemented. Caused my hard drive corruption.

Like many others, I loved the concept of an almost full SD card that I could leave in my MacBook for extra storage etc. Ok, I LOVE the very low price too! But after a few days I realized there was a quality control issue - and I suspect that's why it just doesn't work on some browsers, some doesn't get recognized by their computer, some crashes. except -- and for me it was completely unreliable with my data. I bought this with a 32GB SanDisk card to try. We have several Mac laptops in our…
