Works great in fighting fleas and ticks

Works great and easy to use. I keep a bucket of hot, soapy water by my side when I comb my pets so I can easily pick up the hair, fleas, and flea droppings and pour them straight into the bucket. Fleas cannot jump out of soapy water and drown. I haven't used a topical flea treatment in a long time, just this comb and flea baths. High level of service but it works!

Use it to keep dirt out of our little dog's eyes

BUT our vet recommended us to buy this to keep dormouse and dirt out of little bichon's eyes. It was a lifesaver! I used to try to pull it out while holding it and it's a lot easier. One swipe from his eyes and he removes every little thing from his fur. We love it!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not trendy

no fleas; A small thing, but a great tool for self-care!

My cat has never had fleas as she is an indoor cat and she hates the brush I bought her. But when I recently took her to the vet, the groomer calmed her down with a flea comb and she (the cat) writhed in ecstasy! We won't even mention the worn out of the combed hair that her brush missed! Look! No hairballs! Now I use it almost every time she sits on my lap. I'm a little jealous, wondering if that's really the brushing she needs and not my knees. My only complaint is that it's called a flea…

Great grooming tool but too dark to see fleas

Gus Fluffy gets a brushed nightly. I live in a studio so there's no way for me to avoid cat hair, so I try to be as active as possible by removing as much hair and dander as possible. This comb is perfect for that. It moves gently over his fur, doesn't snag or tug, and keeps him purring happily for at least 15 minutes. The only downside that another reviewer mentioned is the black color. The fleas merge with the black pencil and there were a couple of times I brushed out a flea but didn't…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor pets
Cons
  • No instructions

I was surprised at how many fleas our cats had. We don't have a carpet and they are in the cats but somehow they got them and we didn't realize what was going on until they got loose. This comb is comfortable for our short haired cats. Also picks up scabs from scratching. I had to catch the fleas out of the comb for a few seconds, for example with scotch tape, otherwise they tended to jump off, although some only crawled from one side to the other. We've also seen soapy water suggested, but…
