Disappointing Jeep XJ

After 3 years and 6000 miles these springs are noticeably sagging, this Jeep comes stock with no extra front weight. The upper turns touch at rest. I think I'll try OME.

  • Great Construction

Great quality great price

Changed front springs to xj, 1.5 spacers installed, 2.5" rear springs with 1" calipers. Rides great and has good flex. No complaints, I recommend building on a budget.

Pros
  • Tough finish
Cons
  • Protection

Mountain Jeep XJ - Shocks, Struts & Suspension

Perfect aftermarket springs for my XJ. I wanted to replace the sagging rear springs but didn't want an aggressive lift kit. That, plus the 750-pound springs in the rear, gave me headroom plus the Upcountry package. Bonus: Made in the USA.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Fits

Worked great in a 1988 Jeep Comanche

Great replacement for the Original Equipment front coils in a 1988 Jeep Comanche. These are progressive rate springs and the top coils are closer together than the bottom coils. Pay attention to the position of the clamp when using scroll compressors to install them and you should be fine.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not sure

Great springs for shocks, struts and suspension

Great springs and even better price. I drove my 97 XJ Sport. Rises a little higher than the original, I connected the rear with Dorman springs. So if your front end is sagging or just feels loose, this is the way to go. I didn't use spacers or anything like that, just new springs all around.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Nothing here

Smooth Ride 1 1/2 " Boost

Great suggestion for a modest front end lift on my '01 Cherokee, but I think the variable speed gives a smoother ride than standard in normal driving. The height works well with the replacement Universal 97-539 backplates I installed earlier this year. I did not have to disconnect the driveshaft or control arms as the instructions provided say, as I used a jack to warp the axle and spring compressors to compress them in place.

Pros
  • Little competition
Cons
  • Can't remember

Five years ago I bought Dorman 929-301 Heavy Duty Springs for my 1996 XJ. This gave me 2.5 inches of lift (19.5 inches from the centerline of the hub to the top of the plastic bumper). I measured it recently and it only settled at 19 inches. The front end still measured 17.5 inches of headroom. Other Revain reviewers have recommended these springs to compensate for travel. I asked my local mechanic to install them along with Revain's new Moog K160039 spacers. Together they flattened the front…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Perfect fit for 2001 XJ

Like many people I found these when looking for an OEM lift for my 2001 60 XJ. I installed these and a couple of Doorman leaf springs on my Jeep along with Billstein shocks. I did NOT use suspension shims like the OP suggested and found my slight stroke nice and smooth. For reference, my tire size is 225/70 r16. 2000 XJ Big Update

Thanks to brdavis9 "davisbr" for his review. I've used most of his recommendations and got great results. I had no issues with the fit or quality of the components. The original springs have been removed. Before and after measured from the hub to the bottom of the fender: *Front = 17" now 19.75" *Rear = 16.5" now 19.75 I also changed the tires and the H4 headlight and the Wiring updated Excellent results Parts List: Dorman 929-301 Leaf Spring (Order 2) http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B005VPS3…
