too much fun for science kits and toys

I put this together with my 10 year old grandson and we had no problems. He had so much fun throwing things all over the place. I would like to see if I can find more of these photos in National Geographic.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Safety

Very cool and awesome DIY kit

Wow! I even enjoyed it as an adult! My son and I had a lot of fun building and testing. This has led to hours of fun and I am happy to see my son working with his hands instead of an iPad or a video game. There should be more toys like this for kids to help them learn the basics of boyhood!

Overall very good if you are there to help.

This was one of the many projects my 8 year old grandson and I have completed. This is a quality piece with excellent and educational instructions. However, some steps along the way required the physical strength of an adult. But that's the whole point, isn't it? It is about the cooperation between an adult and a child.

What a great toy for children.

Great project for kids. The packaging says 12 years or more, but if your kids are building Lego, that's no problem. It wasn't difficult for a creative kid under 12 years old. I liked that each project comes with a separate book so multiple kids can build at the same time. In the box was a book that explained Newton's three laws, potential and kinetic energy. An amazing product that teaches science and allows kids to be creative.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Frequency

Laser cut sheets of wood are thin and because they are tightly wrapped in shrink wrap they form a curvature that really disrupts the overall alignment of parts that need to be fairly straight to work properly. Also, the design of some parts was too complicated for the strength of the materials. Because of this, only one model worked. Also, the models do not accurately represent the physics of the original inventions. This kit could have been much better overall. The seller actually has to build

  • Easy to read control panel

Great model kit for learning and education

This is a great model kit. Once assembled, it feels very solid and is holding up very well. I had to help my son put the pieces together as they fit together perfectly. If you (or the person you're giving this to) don't have arm strength, just think about it. They include sandpaper in the kit to remove some of the plywood to make it easier for the pieces to slide together if you decide to go that route. The instructions recommend using glue, but when I helped my son put the pieces together I…

Great quality science kits and toys

I have 3 kids so this set was perfect for them. Everyone took one. They are 8, 10 and 12 years old, two boys and one girl. Each of them could enjoy their set with included goals and have "fights" against each other. We were all pleasantly surprised at how well the models worked and how far the projectiles traveled. The kits say wood glue is recommended but not required. We didn't use wood glue and it worked great. The best part is that these sets teach physics in a very easy way and kids have…

Pros

Cons
  • Great price

Such a great set of working models

My 10 year old got these as part of our STEM subscription. She was very excited about it and spent half the day working on it instead of playing with the electronics. The kit includes a small piece of sandpaper which was necessary to lighten some of the connections. She could assemble anything but weapons. She was having so much fun. These are also working models. Each of them really shoots, and targets are included. My 10 and 7 year olds have had a really good time playing with it for the past

For kids who love to build

My 10 year old daughter loved it. Note that she also likes Lego and building blocks in general and likes to follow instruction manuals. I collected one of three projects on different days. The catapult was the easiest to build, followed by the ballista and the cannon. pre-cut wooden boards for each project, a packet of extra parts clearly separated by project, and a small piece of sandpaper. Details are cut with high precision. All parts fit together exactly. Please note that the project…
