Disappointingly good for learning and education

Box advertises over 150 I only have 129. Most don't even match the cards as we have a bunch of white howlite and a green aventurine but none of those She has tickets. It's like they just tossed some random gems into a box instead of trying to ship the ones listed on the cards. I have bought other sets from them and have been very satisfied, this one is not as good.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not the best

GREAT VALUE FOR ALL YOU GET!

Very happy about it. I spent a couple of hours going through the rocks and sorting them into groups I was familiar with and then using the maps to identify some of the ones I wasn't familiar with. I don't have the patience to sift through all those pebbles to find one for the bingo card. I bought it for my collection of gems and flashcards. I want the cards to be bigger than a normal deck. But playing normal decks of cards will be fun and will subconsciously remind me which stones are which.

This gift is really cool! I love him so much!

I bought this for a stone/mineral deck because I thought it was really cool. However, I love bingo cards. The images are quite decent (considering how hard it is to get really good shots of rocks). There is a large selection of 25 pieces in the sample bag - some have fallen off and some have not. In addition, there is a bag of dropped smaller pieces that can be used for chips, identifying stones, or playing random bingo games. I repackaged the crystals and pumice because they can be brittle…

Total plagiarism of science kits and toys

The first order I received didn't include a small bag of stones and didn't even have all 25 samples, only 24. I complained to Revane who sent me a replacement I had to return the original. No problem. I opened a new one and saw that it contained a bag of mixed gems and was relieved. My 5 year old granddaughter and I tried to play bingo but quickly realized there weren't enough checkers and there were checkers in the bag that weren't on the bag. Bingo cards, still on playing cards. She sorted…

Acceptable. but not great

As many reviewers note, this set does not live up to the description. and of course not enough photos. Nonetheless. I opened the box (which was in good condition) and laid out the bingo cards. Gem tac toe cards weren't included, but that's no deal breaker. Then I opened the bag and examined the rock samples closely. Most were easy to identify, but some required significant guesswork. rzunimag. The selection was ok. not good. Considering this is for my little grandson (who thinks EVERY stone is…

I love National Geographic, but WHAT SELLER doesn't package for shipping?

I love National Geographic products. They are always of good quality. Delivery was ok and on time. HOWEVER, I am furious that this seller literally put a label on the outside of the box and shipped it. This will NOT protect the box from damage! What about snow, rain, etc.? It also looks pretty sticky. When my granddaughter opens it, she won't even see the front cover of the box - and won't want to store her stuff in it because it looks distasteful. I will NOT order from this seller again. With…

Please do not waste your money

I am very disappointed in National Geographic for the release of this "game" set. First, the packaging didn't protect against "big" stones, and I found the fragments (and a completely destroyed piece of pyrite) in a cheap bag. Then I discovered that the stones don't even match the stones on the bingo cards. I bought it to play with my grandkids but it's not playable. The card game is also beyond my frustration. Where you think there will be 52 different bricks(one for each card), there are only

My 7 year old daughter loved it

I have a 7 year old daughter who loves to collect rocks for some reason but usually she picks up old ugly rocks from driveways and rocky paths . You know those boring, expressionless ones that look like they were left over from a construction project. I support her but shrink inside every time she picks up one of them. Then I bought this set. She was so enthusiastic about all kinds of rocks and minerals that we played rock bingo for over an hour. We read the cards aloud and she was very curious
