It's not good for door hardware and locks

The lens on this one is plastic and there is a flattened service right in the middle of the bulging service, which distorts the view. I bought this to replace my previous peephole that was leaking water. I'd rather keep this distorted view than this. I would have sent it back if I hadn't already thrown away the packaging.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • The cord is shorter than other pickaxes

Great peep hole for 1/2 inch hard to reach items

This item works great. Crystal clear when viewed. Installation couldn't be easier. And it's one of the few peepholes that is 1/2 inch in diameter (these days most are 9/16). My door already had a 1/2" hole pre-drilled so I stuck with that size. Does its job with no complaints.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • No instructions

Worry free for our home

Works great and was very easy for my husband to install in our front door. It also looks beautiful (as far as the eye can see). It gave me the peace of mind I needed when it was just me and our kids at home, especially since we don't have windows next to our front door. Do yourself a favor and just buy it! You'll feel a lot better when you can see exactly who's at your door.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

EXCELLENT PRODUCT in hardware

Excellent product. Ease of installation. Hole diameter 1/2 inch. Installation takes about 10 minutes.1. Drill the first hole through the door with a small drill.2. Using a 1/2" drill bit, drill a 1/2" hole on each side of the door. Don't try to go all the way with the big bit.3. Apply a small amount of silicone sealant to the peephole groove on the outside of the door.4. Screw tight.5. Wipe off excess silicone. Did.

  • Good product for the price

Works perfectly! Moisture problem solved!

This viewer works great! I had an issue with moisture getting into the device after a heavy storm and causing image distortion. To solve this problem, lay it on its side, put it in a warm place (I put mine next to the laptop vents) and let the moisture evaporate. I went even further! I smeared a thin layer of clear silicone onto the BACK of the viewer along the seam on the outer edge of the roll. Since then there have been no more problems with moisture. Hope that helps!

What a pretty one! good for peepholes

Looks good and works well. The angle is very wide. I didn't think it was possible to look at such a wide angle without too much distortion, but it works. Just a note: there is a line showing through the center of the lens, just like the two halves of the lens used to be. matched during manufacture. I actually sent the first one back thinking it was a defect or a scratch. But 2 had it too. Right out of the box I only really noticed it in a very bright room and from a certain angle. Now that it's

Does the job for peepholes

Easily installs in a solid wood door with a 1/2" wood drill bit. Provides a panoramic view of my back entrance, driveway, and even cars on the street - love it. Because there are four steps, leading to my back door with no top platform most people will knock and then come down for me to open the door.Even though the viewer is at my eye level I can still see them.I was expecting the lens to be up It's on the inside of the viewing window but it's not. It's open. It won't last long. It looks…

Well done, SUPER CLEAN and worth way more than the $8 I paid for it!

First reaction: Nice smooth finish with no cracks or glass defects on either end. Installation: Our current peep hole was too small for this (I'm guessing the old ones were smaller) so we had to hammer it in, but I don't hold it against the product because I could have drilled a hole but decided not to . Performance: SUPER clear, perfect magnification on the outside. I can see most large packages, even if they're pushed right to the outside of the door, while still seeing ahead at least 20 feet

Looks great, works great, easy to install

The product I received was 'Stanley' brand not 'National Hardware' but it still does what it says on the Packaging says it's easy to install, inexpensive and looks solid. First of all the functionality. It works out? I can definitely answer yes to that. The optics are of decent quality and if you look inside out you get a good clear wide angle view of the space behind the front door, but if you try to look in from the outside you can hardly see anything. anything that eliminates the need for…
