Description of 📻 Enhanced NESDR SMArTee v2 Bundle - Top-Notch RTL-SDR with Built-in Bias Tee, Sturdy Aluminum Enclosure, 0.5PPM TCXO, SMA Input Port, Antenna Base & Trio of Antennas. RTL2832U & R820T2-Based Software Defined Radio (SDR)

An ultra-low noise software defined radio, capable of receiving nearly ANY RF signal from approximately 25MHz-1700MHz. Includes SDR, high-quality antenna base, and 3 antenna masts to get you started right away without any further purchases!. Unmatched price & performance--redesigned PCB reduces noise by an average of a full 3dB! Includes all the same fantastic features as the rest of the NESDR SMArt series, including an ultra-low phase noise TCXO, with a guaranteed <0.5PPM tolerance out-of-the-box. This is at least 4x more accurate than units advertised as containing 1PPM TCXOs, which have up to a +/- 2PPM initial offset. Same form factor as the other devices in our NESDR SMArt series, which means no USB occlusion issues--run devices side-by-side without messy extension cables or adapters, even on embedded devices like the Raspberry Pi!. Always-on, 4.5V bias-tee with independent ultra-low-noise power supply and 250mA power capability allows you to power nearly any active antenna circuitry without messing around with drivers or software. Designed and manufactured by Nooelec in North America. Impeccable quality and full 2-year warranty!.

NooElec product support is excellent

After I plugged the original dongle I received into an Ubuntu Linux computer and ran it for about 3 minutes it seemed to die. The device could no longer recognize the USB device. I tried to see if I could access it from another computer and couldn't. NooElec was very active in helping me solve the problem with the first key I received. After troubleshooting, NooElec determined that the original device was defective and promptly sent a new device. If you're looking for an SDR device, NooElec is…

SDR key. Suitable for computers and accessories

are installed without problems. The key launcher software application was a bit more problematic and took 4 downloads before I decided to use the SDR Cube to get it working. Order an antenna for outdoor mounting as the ones supplied pick up nothing but strong local VHF signals. After connecting to my external antenna, a lot of streaming started. This is a fun toy to play with.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • For old drivers

Decent SDR, bad antenna.

Everything works very well with the right antenna. The antennas included in this kit operate at higher frequencies, but I have experienced excessive noise/interference when using them. Using my 10m dipole gave excellent FM radio clarity and better overall reception.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Everything ok

Excellent SDR for the money

Very good SDR. One thing I've noticed in comments about other SDR devices is how warm or hot they can get. This model warms up but does not heat up even when used for more than 3 hours. I believe this is due to the new heatsink configuration in the SDR USB. After purchase the company sent me a link to their website with very good instructions on how to install the required drivers and software which was very easy when my SDR arrived. They also have a few SDR software packages on their website…

Pros
  • I like everything so far
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Cheap crap that broke the first time

After receiving the product I screwed on one of the antennas that came with it and the connector broke in half rendering the product completely unusable. They also used cheap magnetic glue at the base of the antenna, which is weaker than the magnet itself. As a result, whenever you attach it to something and move it, the magnet will peel off and not stick to the antenna.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • I don't remember

Love it! --- Follow the links in the reviews to get started.

Antennas are good to start with, but as you learn more you'll be bitten by bugs and you'll want to buy/build others for whatever you try have to do. There's a learning curve that might seem daunting, but anything worthwhile doesn't come easy, so keep up the good work. Weather Satellites, Ham Radio, Aircraft, ADSB and more at your fingertips!

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • I don't really like it, everything is fine

AFTER ALL . IT WORKS OUT!

*** UPDATE 10/06/2018 *** The replacement unit has arrived and is still working great. *** UPDATE September 30, 2018 *** My initial review is below. After only 24 hours of use, the device starts giving problems. It dies and freezes on my computer. I called customer service and a refund/refund is in progress. I haven't gotten rid of this device yet. I just repurchased so let's see how the replacement holds up! My advice to anyone buying this device is to run it continuously for the first 24-48…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Modern

The mass to attach the magnet to the whip was not connected, I had to disassemble the base, solder the screen to the metal inside the base where the magnet is located. The plastic base is so thick that even with proper grounding, it will not ground. Compared to the competitor, the device does not have such good reception when connected to the same antenna and all settings are duplicated. Maybe that's anecdotal too, but the device heats up absurdly compared to the RTL-SDR v3. In general this is…

The coolest gadget ever!

I've always loved the radio and it's a cool little radio! After setup, which was very quick and easy, it works like a charm. I'm a radio amateur so it's fun to be able to listen to the tapes and "see the signals" in the SDR software. This key has worked with every software I've tried. Gqrx is my favorite so far, but CubicSDR is also very good! I mostly use Linux so I haven't tried any other SDR software. It gets pretty hot when in use, but the aluminum case dissipates heat well. An outdoor…

Non-monopole antenna

My 2 complaints about this USB SDR. Firstly the software is not included, you have to search for it on different websites to find it and once you get it you have to follow a few tricks to install the right driver. To sum it up, it takes a lot of tricks to get this working with SharpSDR and how did we know we needed SharpSDR? Another trick to find out. Another important point is that antennas are not true monopoles. They have no ground layer and the magnetic base is electrically connected to the
