Works best what rotary cutter blades say

I used an Olfa chenille cutter to make a small 20/20 car seat cover for a friend. The results were stunning. I would recommend cutting off the tissue to be cut in the alimentary canal before cutting with the Olfa cutter. It cuts smoothly and I had no problem keeping it in line. I plan to use it in many more projects. For best results: Make sure your bottom fabric is at least 1 inch wider than the others. Makes it easy to lift and cut just the channels, not the bottom fabric. Also, don't forget…

This thing is amazing

This thing works 100% as advertised. It works better than advertised because it cuts through multiple layers of fabric with ease. As the cutter begins to pull, a small click will move the cutting edge to the new part of the blade. If you can sew straight, the right size guides will hold your pattern properly and lightly touch the center of the channel. This makes the cut more precise and smoother than with scissors, and you don't risk snagging on layers of tissue you don't want to cut. Even…

If you make your own chenille fabric, go get it!

I had an order for a chenille bib and made it by hand with scissors. Then someone told me about this little gem. If you plan to make artificial chenille, buy one. You will not regret it. Each of the four legs has a different width and blade exposure. You control the blade and "change" the blade with the same knob - twist in one direction to change the blade to the next unused segment (fresh sharp blade surface!) for your project. Make a first cut in the pocket and insert the correct leg. Raise…

Cuts through fabric like a hot knife through butter!

Bought to replace another brand I had. This item is AMAZING! Not only can you change the "foot" (the side you use) depending on the channel size you sewed, but you can also turn the dial in the opposite direction to slightly rotate the blade as needed. By turning the blade, you get a completely new blade edge that stays sharp. Great design to get the most out of your blades so you don't have to waste or replace them as often. I only had to twist it twice to cut through a 1 yard three ply cotton

Great tool for chenille blankets!

I'm so glad I ordered this cutter. This was my second chenille blanket. I hand carved the first one and it took a very long time and was so hard on my hands. Olfa Cutter made it much easier and faster. It also made it a lot easier to verify that I didn't cut through the base layer of the fabric. I found the blade clogged with flannel fibers, as many reviewers have pointed out. I just used a toothpick after running the cutter through each canal. Quick cleaning of the blade after each channel…

Amazing Gadget!: Quilting

I have read other reviews before and after my purchase and I am NOT disappointed in my purchase of this tool! I don't know why some people have so much trouble with it! A few things come to mind - they aren't bias stitched or cut - you can do both, but you have to. If you try to cut with a straight grain there WILL be problems, not the first of which is the lack of a true chenille effect. It will also clog horribly and not "stay on track". I don't have a walking foot on my machine, but I've…

Makes chenille quilts a lot faster

I've used this knife on several faux chenille quilts. I used other cutters (e.g. Clover). This one is definitely my favourite. There's a slight learning curve, but with trial and error and practice, it's great! The largest channel spacer is 1/2 inch, so be careful not to sew the channels too wide. If your channels are sewn more than this, you run the risk of cutting off from the center, or worse, up to the seam. It's very important to keep the blade and channel guide at a 90 degree angle to the
