Great for removing hubs!

To save money I only bought the Grappler puller and replaced the complete set with an ATD bearing set. This thing worked flawlessly and thanks to that I was able to keep the costs from getting out of control. worth your money. Well built on all sides.

breathtaking. worked great.

For removing/installing a 2000 Saturn bearing. Works great with the bearing kit so I did NOT have to remove the entire assembly. I did all the repairs while it was still attached to the car. A big plus was that the center threaded stud fitted my bearing kit better than the stud from the bearing kit.

Did what it was supposed to do

The gripper is a reliable unit. I only bought the gripper, not the full set. I bought a separate bushing removal kit for about $70 so the entire solution is about $200. I used this to remove and install rear bearings on a 2013 BMW 335Xi (F30 N55). It worked great. I did my best to keep this thing together the way it should be. All of the positive reviews for this product are well deserved and I am very impressed. For those who are curious, I used a Dewalt 1/2" high-torque impact wrench with a…

Expensive spare parts.

I bought this whole assembly when all I really needed was a jackbolt, nut and bushing. I have the whole set and the stanchion is starting to wear out after replacing about 50 wheel bearings. It's the same price of buying the entire assembly versus buying three pieces. I think I can change this frame if it just doesn't fit. I am not disappointed with the performance of the jacking screw. If you keep it oiled it will take a lot of punishment. What disappointed me is the fact that OTC makes a…

Allen screws are not suitable.

Allen screws are too weak for the weight of the product. Today, on the second use, the head for the hexagon socket on one of the screws broke off. Please upgrade. While the concept is easy to set up unlike 4x4 kits with horseshoe braces, the lack of a small bolt design is counterproductive. The online service "technical support" is rude and misleading, claiming that the screws are not for adjustment. The tech support staff then attempted to email me a fake warranty that was not on the website…

Easy to pull on the hub

I used this on a '09 Corolla to remove the hubs when replacing a wheel bearing. Both hubs failed easily with a 700 ft-lb pneumatic percussion drive. I used a 3/4" ID bearing in place of the two washers that came with it, and plenty of anti-seize on the threads. It's a large and heavy tool, but I found it very handy once installed. Anti-dust grille, but that was very minor. The dust protection grid is located between the push arms and the spindle. This can be an issue on some cars, but not on…

Worked great on my Saturn. Very strong bolt

Anyone who has to press in a bearing on a front wheel drive vehicle knows it's going to be no fun. Watching videos of people using a slide hammer to pry the hub out seemed like the only way to get the job done. But I saw another review mentioning they used this on Saturn and it worked fine so I spent a small fortune and got this. At first I thought the claws were pulling on the hub and the bolt was kinda pushing, so I didn't see how that could work. On the contrary, the grips are actually…

Big time saver: tools and gear

I used this to remove hubs and bearings from a 3rd gen Odyssey. It's a hefty tool, but considering how much force it takes to pull the bearing out, I was a little concerned it would break. You definitely don't want to use an impact wrench because 1. the tool is easier to break and 2. you'll actually get better results with a regular wrench. Use a pry bar if needed and be sure to use a 3/4 spanner (or larger). The bearings on one side were really tight and I had a short scammer tube on my 3/4…

GREAT TOOL FOR REMOVING WHEELS AND BEARINGS FROM VEHICLES

This is my first time using this gripper. Is it expensive. I have another similar tool and am comparing another to this one. It has what they call a camp. consists of two flat concave metal parts that are connected to each other to avoid friction when the screw turns. The screw is super heavy. and the main difference is that the thread on the screw is thinner. There it is mentioned that it is subject to stretching by other mechanics. I will never work on cars enough for that. If you're buying…
