💪 Efficient Pitman Arm Puller: OTC (8150) Conical Design for Easy Removal Review

Let my pitman's hand soak in the PB blaster for a few days before I take it off. At first I had to use a crusher, but as soon as I thought the threads on this thing were snapped off, to my great surprise, the bipod arm just fell off. Works like clockwork. This is a great alternative to the Mopar C-4150A puller used at the dealership. I used it on my 2004 steering box to install a later 2008+ steering box so I think it will fit at least a 2003-2017 Ram 4x4.

Bought to dismantle the bipod on the Mercedes 450SL. Fit well and work great. The Mercedes airlock is very narrow and will require some effort to remove. This tool did it with ease. The method I used was to increase the tension on the puller and then tap the connecting rod with a small hammer. Then tighten the tool a little more and tap again (not really with a hammer, just tap and relax your hand). Repeated this and it lifted the shuttle with little effort. I bought this to use on a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins 4x4 truck. With these trucks, the distance between the blade and the steering shaft bushing is small. This puller fits between the bipod arm and socket where others cannot. However, this puller does not slide far enough to properly align the propeller shaft with the steering shaft bushing. This is a larger version of 8149. I used 8149 for less traction on a 1965 Mustang but it was too small to fit on. 2001 Dodge 2500 Van Arm. 8150 fits well. I have to say like many other reviewers that the OTC 8150 Conical Pitman Arm Puller is a real beast! The problem with my 1986 GMC S-15 Jimmy (like the S-10 Blazer of the time) was that I couldn't use the standard "C" (or "U") pullers that you could rent at auto parts stores . because there was very little space between the bipod arm and the steering gear on the output shaft and therefore the ears on these pullers would not engage properly.
