    Affordable and durable

I have used it hiking Mount St Helens and am very glad I have it. There was a lot of ash and snow on some sections of the trail and I couldn't get anything in my shoes. I actually took them off during the last part of the hike and I ended up getting some rocks in my shoes so I'm glad I got them. The only thing is that they are not very flattering to me. I've noticed that the pages can bloat, but that gets the job done. They seem pretty durable and affordable.

    Save from garbage!

Ordered 2 pairs - one S/M for me (size 5 shoes, thin calves) one for my husband L/XL (size 13 shoes, large calves). Judging by the reviews, they live up to expectations. Mine slip a bit and bunch up around the ankles - not so bad with socks and it's better if I roll up the gaiters a bit. For a week I walked on deep sand, small stones, paths with garbage. The gaiters worked great keeping everything off our boots. Easy to turn on and off. We'll be hiking more in the summer and see how well they…

    Excellent quality! for outdoor recreation

I love them, but I'm wearing the second pair in 10 years because the velcro gets clogged with chitgrass seeds, and half of the velcro without a hook doesn't lose its "hold". Otherwise the materials are still in top condition. I use them daily to work in bush steppes and to keep cheatgrass and other painful grass seeds/thorns from getting into my hiking boots and socks. They also offer minimal protection against dust mites, dirt and water. I love them but just wish there was something as strong…

    Black, hot, work.

I bought these for beekeeping so the bees wouldn't get down my pants and sting my ankles. They do an excellent job of that. I had a pair of old knee length cross country ski boots that I had worn for 25 years that closed at the back. They use velcro on the front. I think the zipper is faster as it straightens the sides on its own as it closes. They are only black, so very hot in summer. The lace hook is on the back (from my old leggings) and points towards your foot, not away from it. They get…

A smaller size may work better.

Disclaimer: I've only worn them on two hikes. But so far they are exactly what I needed. I'm 6ft 2in, wear size 12 hiking shoes (no boots) and was annoyed with stickers, spikes and brushes getting on my socks and shoes while hiking. "Petrified Forest" when I saw that I had a phone signal I immediately ordered them. Due to my height I was tempted to order larger ones. But so many reviewers recommended the S/M size that I ordered a size down. They are ideal for debris protection. my shoes and my…

Not the best upgrade for a sock

I have an older version of this sock and have ridden AT and other cascades in it for over 2000 miles. I've ridden 2000 miles since my last pair because the top and bottom latches were metal buttons and they never let me down. What crippled her was the fact that the bottom elastic was completely ruined. Also, I loved that they used to only have eyelet holes on the bottom edge and used nylon thread to go under the foot which is easy to replace, although I ran my rope at least a thousand miles…

Works perfectly! But. best in gaiters

These things work great to protect my hiking boots from rocks/sand/debris. As many previous reviews have said, consider getting a small size instead of a large one. I took the advice and they fit my size 13 X-Wide hiking boots perfectly. If they were a little bigger I'm not sure they would work. I give them 5 starting points BUT there is a downside for me. I live in the Arizona desert and usually walk when the temperature is over 100 degrees. The first time I wore these leggings I walked 14…

SM vs LG - Bought Both - Men's Size 13 Shoes

Bought the large but returned in favor of the small. Medium boots for hiking. However, the measurement that really matters is the circumference of my foot in the smallest size just above the ankle which is 9 inches. Another important point is the main reason for the purchase and what I will not wear with it - pants. . A typical hike for me is 12 miles with a climb of over 3000 feet. I sweat a lot and always wear shorts when hiking unless it's below freezing. I live in the south so I rarely wear
