They work but it's expensive

It's hard to find a combination. You will need three hands or a vise. There are other brands that are 40% cheaper, easier to install and more durable. I wouldn't buy them again.

Pros
  • I keep the cameras
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

This lock works great - read the negative reviews carefully

This lock was fine. In almost every case. Use two for the pelican sleeve. I often ship high quality Pelican packages overseas. No mistake. But when it comes to using the right product in the right case, it matters. TSA standards require how it is made and works. I mean the quality lock. There seems to be a lot of fake Revain reviews out there right now. Hope that helps.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Quality

Looks solid but has some design flaws that aren't ideal for a lock.

After 3 flights these locks look a bit worn but they still work. I want the dials to rotate in both directions. It's probably the first locks I've had that don't do that. Also, the number will appear under the dot when you enter the unlock combination. I have two of these locks and they both have the same issues so I believe there are better locks out there for the money.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Modern

Great castle for travelers!

You don't just look at this lock. It's small, it's cheap, it's easy to lock and unlock, it's easy to change the code (safe, of course), and the TSA doesn't have to break out the bolt cutters and leave you lockless for the rest of your trip. The loop is long enough to work with most luggage. The hinge is pretty flimsy, so it won't protect against a determined thief with bolt cutters, but that's not what this lock is designed to protect against. This helps as a defense against opportunistic…

A zipper would work better.

I don't know how this lock got so many good reviews. It's garbage. I locked it once and the combination didn't open the lock again. But that doesn't matter because I was able to pick the lock easily by turning the knob in the cable. Then, just to see, I took ordinary plastic-handled dollar scissors and cut it off. A zip tie is better because 1) you know if security opened it. 2) the tie keeps the lid closed if the latches fail, and 3) the tie is just as difficult to break as this flimsy lock.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • No insurance

Sturdy construction of luggage and travel gear

Not sure if Pelican actually does it or not, but it's definitely durable, as are their holdalls. I bought a Pelican 1750 case to transport my 338 Lapua Mag for moose hunting. Having one of these locks on each of the two metal latches on the case gives me peace of mind that my rifle will reach its target safely and only the TSA will go into that case. and inaccurate like other TSA locks I've had) and the cable/lock mechanism seems much stronger than other locks in this category I've had. The…

Excellent build quality.

UPDATE April 17, 2014: Well, in the short time I've had it, I've liked it. However, I lost it within 2 hours of my vacation in LA, so I can't say how it would have lasted. Obviously it wasn't chiseled properly and popped up before I knew it so a second later it disappeared into LA! I read so much about this lock that I almost didn't buy it. However, I needed something that could get two zippers close enough to secure with a padlock. So far everything is working as planned, so if it stays that…

The numbers are difficult to see.

works well enough and looks well made but it has yet to pass the test known as airlines. This lock doesn't confuse me as the body color combination, the shine of the wheels and the general lack of contrast with the numbers make it very difficult to see the numbers to set the wheels in the correct combination. . Finally, I took out my reading glasses to see the numbers. Setting up the combo was a little scary as it really takes 3 hands to play comfortably. Holding down the reset button while…

Decent Lock - Luggage Locks

I really don't like using TSA locks but this time I just didn't have a choice. It seems like a pretty good lock. I wanted one with a steel cable instead of a shackle because the cable is harder to cut. I love that you have to press a button to unlock and that you can't press a button unless you enter the right combination. That means that if you don't have a combination, you have to bypass two things (if you don't have an ATC key). I had to buy a replacement of these just to see how well they…
