Completely inaccurate

Bought this device and compared it to a professional device (Amprobe TX900). This unit varies greatly and is very imprecise. I wouldn't trust at all.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

This works well with household sensors and alarms

Hold the device 2 inches from the inspection area. The red light and buzzer will turn off when the microwave radiation is too strong. I found that my microwave gives off a large burst of energy after each spin of the carousel. I now step back two or three feet when using the microwave, which is a good general rule for any microwave.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Helped get rid of my obsessive fear of my microwave

I bought a microwave and was worried that it wasn't up to scratch. This device eliminated that fear when all readings were far below normal. My old cordless home phone showed higher readings, although none of them came close to the danger level. I would buy it again and recommend it.

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Useful only as a random number generator

This purchase is a waste of money if you need an oven leak detector. Once turned on, the display showed a constantly changing number, even when there was no microwave nearby. It could be the detection of non-oven broadcast signals, or it just doesn't work. I should have sent it back but I waited too long to look at it.

Pros
  • Satisfied
Cons
  • Not sure

Not sure about accuracy

3 stars because I don't know the answer to this question yet - is it calibrated accurately? When I match it to my Apple Airport Extreme (393mW) it shows a maximum of 1mW/cm2. Assuming it is no further than 3cm from the indoor antenna, possibly closer, it should read 393/4pi*r2 or at least 3.5mW/cm2. I get very low microwave leakage values, maximum 0.1 mW/cm2. I'm not sure I can believe it. How can I check the calibration?

Pros
  • nice little thing
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Works very well. Best security and protection

Arrived in good condition. It's easy to use. I have used it on 2 microwaves since purchase. Both leaked more than recommended. My attempts to examine the scientific data on the safety of these leaks have been unsuccessful at best. The Soviets consider it harmful. . Her research includes exposure to microwaves for 6 hours a day, which most people wouldn't have in their kitchen. The first discovery was made during radar research when a magnetron melted a candy bar in a technician's pocket.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Complete bullshit is best in Safety&Security

My microwave has made a hole in itself (about 1 cm). As an engineer, I calculated that there shouldn't be any significant leakage through such a small hole, but I decided to buy a gauge to check. This is one of the worst products I have ever seen. Numbers jump all over the place, buttons and functions don't work as advertised. The "MAX" function just doesn't work. Finally I put it in the microwave (only 2 seconds - I wouldn't advise longer) to see if it measures anything. It beeped (which…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

than 7.5 mW/cm2 and you could feel the radiation.

In fact, I found that my new microwave oven let through a significant amount of radiation, for example 7.5 mW/cm2, and the radiation could be felt up to 1.5 meters from the doors. There are no leaks on the back and sides. At this point I wondered if I believed the meter. However, the lack of detection on the sides when there is one on the front is strong evidence that something is wrong with the microwave and I will be returning it. I also tested another microwave with this unit and it put out…

Pros
  • Outstanding design
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Very useful and inexpensive

Very easy to use, instructions are clear. The meter is supplied in a nylon case with a belt loop. Also includes a tripod to allow you to accurately position and stabilize the gauge if needed. The backlight and maximum hold functions are very practical, as well as the red light warning/warning for measured values over 5 mW/cm2. Press MAX and the instrument stores and displays the highest value in the series. Accuracy is given as +/- 1 dB. If it is dBm, it converts to +/- 1.26mW/cm2. I used a…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Without automatic controls
