Works fantastic. Good piece!

A real overview of the sacred field can be found here. My old distributor gave me problems. Got me chasing my tail This distributor is excellent equipment. Especially for the price. The lid and rotor had a much larger contact point than my old one. This worked with my later style 86 and sbc roller cam. Fired and Running Awesome. Happy with it!

Perfect for Chevy 5.7L 350

Installation was easy. The time was set quickly. The truck purrs like a kitten. At first I thought it was the wrong shaft length. But it was the oil pump wrench that needed adjusting and the setup was perfect. Looks high quality and the engine runs very well. The old truck (92 K1500 5.7L with carb non tbi) started with no hesitation at the first push of a button.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Works well, looks good and a good buy for the money!

I am a retired car mechanic. I needed to rebuild a distributor for my classic 1962 Chevy truck and came across this listing for less than mine was worth. I bought one and was amazed at the quality and performance of the machine. I installed it on my truck and it worked flawlessly. I have no complaints at all. I will be ordering another one soon just for parts as this complete distributor is cheaper at a local dealership than just a cap, rotor and module. I highly recommend this to everyone!

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Slightly torn

So easy to install and at an unbeatable price

I put a new engine in a Chevy 350 food truck that wouldn't fire instead of fiddling with the coil and everything I ordered. I had this at home, the next day I dropped it, plugged in 2 plugs and the motor lit up and purred like a kitten. Why didn't the local auto parts store charge me for a new coil? And there was more coil in this brand new block so it wasn't difficult. I've driven a truck about 5000 miles and no hiccups would definitely buy this product again. I know it's scary for the price…

Looks good, but there are problems.

The dispenser itself looks good and seems to work well. He had a gap between the intake and manifold floor and thought it was the intake height. I folded the manifold gasket in half to accommodate. It seemed to work fine until I took it off to see the wear pattern on the transfer gear and found it only went halfway up the splines. The slotted groove on the distributor for rotating the oil pump is thicker than the original and can also cause problems. I ended up dropping this distributor to…

It works - as advertised.

I hate dealing with ignition issues - especially on 40 year old resto mods. I could see problems with my original HEI and tried to fix what turned out to be worn out. I read the reviews and comments about this HEI device and gave it a try. Luckily surprised - the reviews are correct - it works right out of the box. - Synchronization and feed, both mechanical and vacuum, worked correctly. I really had to install a faucet vacuum advance limiter as the total advance was 42 degrees and I needed to…

Great quality great price.

Put this on my 71 C20 with 2bbl 307. For those wanting to upgrade to HEI, just remove your old distributor, put the engine at TDC, align the distributor rotor so it pointing towards the cylinder. #1 for rotor spark as well as oil pump arm alignment. (The distributor must be pushed all the way against the intake manifold or you'll miss the oil pump lever.) Simply connect the distributor to the spark plugs in the correct firing order clockwise. This distributor only needs a hot wire without…

Arrived well protected in foam packaging.

It was about the same amount of money just to buy this new unit as it was to try and fix the one I have. From the outside it looks neat, the lid has been removed, the interior details are fine, nothing is dangling. We'll see how long it lasts in the car. Delivered 2/11/2019 Distributor failed on 6/1/2019, I tested the pickup coil and main coil, swapped the HEI modules, everything tested fine, the machine worked for 45 seconds and shut off when it just felt electric. I ordered a different…

Good value for money is a matter of durability

I bought this in my vintage car in February 2018. For the price it's hard to beat when compared to a full rebuild of an old, high mileage or most brand new ones you can get. Yesterday (09/17/19) the ignition module refused me. Confirm this with a multimeter, infinite ohms across the green and white terminals. Replaced the ignition module with one from the parts store ($30) today and it immediately fixed the no spark problem. I'm hesitant to give a bad review because as I said, for the money…
