Post Magnetic Replacement Outgoing Pickup Review

When my mailbox got plowed over during a big snow storm in New England I figured I'd have to pay for a new mailbox until I found this magnetic mailbox online. The ideal solution at no extra cost.

I keep it in my mailbox until I send mail. The postman tried to put it down and it fell to the ground. Now he puts them back in the mailbox with my mail. It works, but only because the postman cooperates.

I used this on an internal mailbox in our office building and after 6 months the magnet stopped working. It was cute and functional but would never work for an outdoor mailbox with wind or other elements. Disappointing.

I love this product! I have a home mailbox and I put a check box on the side of the mailbox and my USPS agent picks up my mail that I want to mail and then puts the check box at the bottom of the box so I can use it again. . I'm glad I bought this. No assembly required, just take it out of the box and use it.

The magnets are very weak and will not stick to anything, including the mailbox, without slipping off after a few seconds. It's not the high-tech feature that needs fixing. It looks like the picture I like. But you don't get a star just for what I expected when it doesn't work.

We have a porch with steps and a wall mounted post box. The box as sold failed to signal the postman that the mail had been received. With a simple change, I changed the mailbox flag to hang on top of the box so the postman knew mail needed to be picked up, or vice versa when there was no mail, minimizing the stair climbing.

Unfortunately the flag magnet is very weak. I have a metal mailbox and need to carefully place and balance the flag to keep it upright. This defeats the entire purpose of the flag. I will just buy a magnet and stick it on for the flag to use. This is a great idea with poor execution. I wouldn't buy it again but I don't want the hassle of sending it back.

Great idea, hence 2 stars instead of 1, but it's a shame the manufacturer didn't opt for a stronger magnet - a strong wind will blow it away. I'll see if hooking up a super strong magnet in the box will help keep it from blowing out. If that doesn't work I'll send it back and take a steel flag with the very strong magnet I already have - I would have done that to begin with.
