Effective but not perfect

Works well with my 10 and 20 gallon aquariums. I originally bought a sponge inlet filter for my 35 gallon tank. This filter clogs after 1-2 days and severely restricts water flow. Foam filters are currently installed on HOB filters (Marineland and TopFin brands). They last for several weeks without having to be cleaned. I clean mine every week during a water change, but can skip a few weeks. Separately, it's worth noting that they saved several fry from being sucked into the water intake. Thisโ€ฆ

Prevents the filter from sucking up food in front of the fish.

I use this filter to vacuum a Marineland Magniflow 360 canister with a 55 gallon container. When I fed the fish, the filter sucked in a lot of food. This would lead to more frequent cleaning of the coarse filter on the canister. The size M suction sponge solved this problem. Fish will ingest stuck food after eating free-floating food. Much less biomaterial waste. In my case I have to flush or change this daily. When you pull the fish out, put a net on it so that all the caught objects do notโ€ฆ

DO NOT BUY FILTER FOR LARGE AQUARIUMS

This product is absolute garbage. It looks like a piece of soft sponge that someone cut by hand with cheap scissors. Not worth the asking price. At 8.50 you would expect at least one product made from higher quality foam. If you have a long life filter, like most large tank canister filters, the air intake will suck in that sponge and block the water flow. which can damage the filter. The throttled filter is now unable to do its job, which can lead to ammonia spikes and dead fish. This filterโ€ฆ
