Bought this color for the first time - it completely covers my black hair and turns me into an auburn! I would buy it again.

I have thick, wavy Asian hair. I bought it to hide my highlights that were getting too light. I leave the paint on my head for 40 minutes and wash it off according to the directions. The color stayed on the part of my hair that wasn't previously colored and didn't cover my highlights. Long story short, the color didn't do what I needed. It's been two weeks - my highlights are still blonde and now my hair looks the same as it did before I spent the money on this product.

I lasted 45 minutes because I knew 20-30 minutes wouldn't help, doing everything for unbleached hair and wanted to play it safe. It has turned dark brown. I think only I would notice it indoors, but outside it looks like a medium brown in natural light. I'm thinking of getting another box within a month to get lighter from here. By the way, it smells pretty bad, so be sure to ventilate well when using it.

Very easy to use, the soda bottle worked well and the groves aren't as cheap as most home paint kits. So I used dye, waiting longer than recommended hoping to cover my gray hair. Good color for dark hair and easy to apply. But it is washed off gray hair after 1-2 washes. If you have healthy black hair give it a try but if you are trying to hide gray hair you are wasting your time.
