VERY EXPENSIVE! But it does what it's supposed to do

I put off buying this item for a year because I think it's too expensive, but I ran into a dilemma and it helped me so. I still think the price is unreasonable for what it is and its construction, but I will say that it works as it should on difficult materials.

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Little effort Perfect torches

Obviously not the cheapest tool, but considering the amount of time and material that goes into a cheap tool that flares up nicely from time to time, I think this tool is worth investing in to achieve long-term savings. And don't forget, it's two tools in one, 45 and 37 degrees, perfect for your entire car restoration.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • boring packaging

Great TGR customer service and tool

Update: I contacted TGR about a missing 37Β° flared washer and they sent it to me. Amazing customer service gets it right. Thank you for the great communication TGR! Original: This is a good quality tool but unfortunately mine does not come with a 37Β° adjustment as advertised. It worked fine at 45Β° but I spent the extra money on a 37Β° flare and didn't get it.

Great tool. Well made and makes perfect flashes every time.

Excellent tool. Well made and makes perfect flashes every time. I regret paying the extra money for an AN adapter as most AN fittings no longer require an extension so I haven't used them yet. I have practiced every AN size and they have all been perfect. It comes in a rather nice case that keeps all the parts in one, unlike the Eastwood tool where you have to keep the AN adapter separately if you get one as an add-on.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Fast, easy, good flashes!

Thing works well and is easy to use. Only 2 cons: 1. The handle could be longer, it takes 40 pounds to spin a 3/8 inch aluminum line, I wouldn't want to try it on stainless steel. I'll probably lengthen my grip.2. The dies require 2 inches of straight pipe to grip, plus more to accommodate the fitting prior to bending. If you want tight bends near the flare, you'll either have to get creative and bend after the flare, or use another tool. Overall, this thing makes some good bells. Much better…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

The perfect double flash ALWAYS

I've worked in a specialized body shop for over 30 years, repairing exotic cars, custom yachts and turbine helicopters. I have purchased several crimping tools over the years but this is the best crimping tool I have seen and used. I just replaced all of the old brake lines on my engine with 3/16" 316L SST hoses and 316L SST fittings. This tool flared each end perfectly with no problems. bad. I am assuming that whoever wrote this negative review mechanically incompetent and/or incompetent with…

  • a practical item

  • So far so good

The last torch device you will ever need

Oh my god! What an arsonist! I wasted a good day trying to get a single satisfying double exposure to get the perfect one in minutes. It's so easy it's even fun to make. No more making bad torches, cut them off, keep making bad torches until my leash is too short. Very good tool and well built. I love the fact that it does bubble flashes, single flashes, and double flashes at both 45 and 37 degrees. I sold my uncle three sets of crimping tools for $20 in preparation to receive this and I was…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
