A heat gun that melts itself.

Used 10 times and then starts to crack and melt at the bottom? It's never safe like that. I do NOT recommend using a candle or any other project that requires you to be on for more than 5 minutes. Also does not work when plugged into an extension cord. Very dissatisfied.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Great for beginners good for welding and soldering

I bought this item to use when using vinyl on mugs to heat it up so it sticks better and it does the job for the price Perfect. I'll try it on resin then and just not sure if it will be warm enough and the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is for the warmth. Great value for money though!

Pros
  • quality construction
Cons
  • not reliable

Broke after less than 3 weeks of use

I received this tool for Christmas. I immediately started using it in my polymer projects. Worked great at first but stopped working after 3 weeks. I was in the middle of the ocean spreading my colors and it slowed down and smoke started coming out. I didn't have time to finish my piece. Dissatisfied.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

Poor but so far good value for money

For $10 it's not bad but my resin has a lot of bubbles from not heating up enough. This is a trick 22 because if it gets hot enough it can mess up my shapes. For now I'll leave it at that and just work slower to reduce bubbles, but I'm sure there's a powerful gun with heat settings for another $5-10. This guy is just ON or OFF, that's it.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Damaged

Doesn't really remove bubbles

I was glad I could use it on resin projects but it ended up being useless and I will never use it. The switch to turn it on got stuck in itself after a few days and won't turn on anymore. And even when it worked, the resin was blown out so hard that sometimes it blew out of the molds and the bubbles didn't go away. I'd rather use a long lighter.

Pros
  • Long lasting finish
Cons

SERIOUSLY DON'T DO THIS!

FIRST TIME USE! I connected it. Allowed. Started smoking a little, I thought it was normal. But it started smoking at the top and bottom near the switch. I noticed that the tip REALLY MELTS! and then he actually started BURNING THE FIRE! I threw it in the box, the only thing next to me, and splashed water on it! I knew it was a heat gun but I didn't take it literally!

Pros
  • ATTENTION: This epoxy heat gun has an operating time of less than 3 minutes. Excessive heat can also melt the plastic parts of the hair dryer. Also, always take extra care when using the hair dryer on flammable and fusible plastic objects. As a precaution, do not use the heat gun too close to the surface of the object you want to heat or dry.
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

I would give 5 negative stars if I could.

Used for the first time and almost suffered 3rd degree burns. At first it wouldn't turn on, then after 15 seconds it started smoking, then it caught fire and melted in 30 seconds. Thank goodness no one was hurt, luckily I was in my kitchen which is next to the door to our screened in patio so I could take it outside to air out and then it melted and fell apart. Again the first attempt to try this thing. Don't buy this. Terrible product. Luckily the seller refunded me the full purchase price.

Pros
  • DRY 5X FASTER THAN A HAIR DRYER - Whether you need a heat gun for small jobs or quick work on big projects, this DIY heat gun won't disappoint. With technology that heats up in seconds, the heat gun can reach temperatures of 200°C/390°F instantly.
Cons
  • Discontinued

Not very good but

I've been looking forward to getting a heat gun to eliminate bubbles in my epoxy products for a long time. For the price I wasn't expecting much but I wanted to try, the photo I'm sharing is an example of how this gun didn't completely remove all the bubbles and I don't even mean the ones below, the ones I give you show, are at the top! These should literally be the easiest bubbles to burst. Disappointed that it only has one setting as I do many different projects and can use different speeds…
